Your POV
"Well hello there, lass," a irritated-sounding voice said through the thick brush.
Great. Harry heard me, and he seems angry. This can't end well.
"Oh! Hello," I respond, trying to keep my voice from wavering.
Harry stepped out of the greenery to where I was standing. There wasn't much room, so our noses were inches apart from each other.
"I thought ye needed te ask a teacher about some 'tough assignment.' But instead yer singin' in the middle of a forest. Care te explain?"
Should I tell the truth? Maybe, but not the whole truth. "The truth is, I did have a tough assignment. Once I asked the teacher about it, I came here to relax."
"Ya. Right." he moved so his mouth was right next to my ear. "I can tell when yer' lyin'.
Shuddering, I decided it was best to just tell the truth. "Okay, you got me. The real truth is that I did not need to ask a teacher about an assignment. I just needed to do some thinking, so I came here."
Finally, Harry moved away, and began pacing the small space. Eventually he stopped, and began talking again.
"What I don't get," he started, pacing yet again, "is why ye came here, instead of walking back te the dorms with me."
"I..." Why did I say no? I mean, we're both Isle kids, and are in pretty much the same situation. Most Auradon kids are against us, and the only people who will talk to us new VK's like equals are Ben and the four original VK's.
Hm. Maybe we have more in common than I thought. "I don't know."
"Yeah. That's what ye always say." He spun around, and lifted his hook to begin slashing at the brush.
But before he could start, I whispered, "I'm sorry."
He froze, his hook in midair. "Lass? What was that ye said?"
"Nevermind." I sniffled, turning around. I can never let anyone see me cry. It shows weakness.
"(Y/N). Come here, love," Harry quietly stated, and pulled me in for a hug.
I buried my face in his wonderful smelling shirt and lost it. I cried for the Isle kids still in the dreadful place. I cried for my childhood and how horrible it was. I cried for my life in Auradon so far, and how nobody seems to like me.
I sobbed for Harry, who has been the only one who seems to care about me.
I have been the most ungrateful thing on the planet.
"H-Harry... I-"
"Shhh, (Y/N). It'll be alright."
He began singing, softly.
"I look up from the ground
To see your sad and teary eyes
You look away from me
And I see there's something you're trying to hide
And I reach for your hand but it's cold
You pull away again
And I wonder what's on your mind
And then you say to me you made a dumb mistake
You start to tremble and your voice begins to break
You say the tears on the counter weren't your friend's
Yeah they were yours
And I feel the color draining from my faceAnd I said
"I know it hurt you, but it's over, mate
It doesn't matter, put those things away
It's never easy to walk away, let it go
It'll be alright"So I still look back at all the memories you'd shared
And I know they weren't right, but they were messin' with my head
And everything deleted like the past, it was gone
And when I touched your face, I could tell you hadn't moved on
But it's not the fact that you admitted it yesterday
It's the feeling of sadness, that I just can't seem to shake
And everything I know tells me that I should walk away
But I just want to stayAnd I said
"I know it hurt you, but it's over, mate
It doesn't matter, put those things away
It's never easy to walk away, let it go
It'll be okay
It's gonna hurt for a bit of time
So bottoms up, let's forget tonight
You'll stop remembrin' and you'll be just fine
Let it go"But nothin' heals the past like time
And they can't steal
The love you're born to find
But nothin' heals the past like time
And they can't steal
The love you're born to find"I know it hurt you, but it's over, mate
It doesn't matter, put those things away
It's never easy to walk away, let it go
It'll be okay
It's gonna hurt for a bit of time
So bottoms up, let's forget tonight
You'll stop remembrin' and you'll be just fine
Let it go"It'll be alright
It'll be alright
It'll be alright
It'll be alright
It'll be alright"His soothing voice faded out, leaving me feeling more loved than I ever have before.
"Thank you, Harry," I whispered, pulling slightly away from him so our noses touched.
He brushed a tear off my cheek. "Anytime, love."
??? POV
I scrambled away from the scene, trying not to make a sound. If I did, they probably didn't hear me anyway. Clearly they were so into each other that nothing could ever come between them.
We'll see about that.
A/N:
Anyone else catch that I changed the lyrics a bit to fit the situation? ;)
