Harry's POV

"Did I do something wrong?" I ask, nervously glancing around the silent gym.

After a few seconds, Carlos finally chimes in, "You beat Chad."

"Ya? And?"

"Well, not one of the boys who tried out today... Actually won the round."

"Seriously? Ye have te be kidding with me." I smirk, looking over to where Chad was standing. "It wasn't that difficult."

"You really think this is a joke?" Chad implies, and walks out of the gym in defeat.

Slowly, the audience starts clapping, and I bow. "Thank ye, thank ye very much."

Well then. I guess I really am the best fencer in Auradon.

Once the applause dies down a little, people begin filing out, and Carlos motions for me to follow him.

"Well Harry, I think it's obvious that you have made the team."

I scoff. "Duh! Did ye see me destroy Chad?"

He grins. "Yep. Honestly, he needed to be taught a lesson."

At this point, we reach the locker room, where the rest of the team is.

I can't help but notice the guy standing back in the shadows, away from the rest of the group.

Carlos moves over to where Jay is standing, and the two begin whispering something to each other. I wonder what it could be.

Jay claps his hands. "All right boys, listen up. Today, we are adding a few new members to the team: Ethan, son of King Eric and Queen Ariel," the crowd applauds, "Adam, son of Alice," the crowd claps once more, "and last, but certainly not least, Harry, son of Captain Hook."

The crowd is silent.

Of course. Why would anyone want a real pirate who can actually use a sword on the fencing team?

Carlos and Jay exchange a look. "Hey, give the guy some respect!" Jay commands, fiercely.

Reluctantly, the team begins clapping. "Really, I don't need the applause," I try to say, but Carlos cuts me off.

"No. Everyone deserves the same respect as everyone else," he says.

Jay begins speaking again. "Let this be a lesson to all of you. If this ever happens again," he glares at everyone, "let's just say things won't be as pretty as they were today."

A few of the team members snicker, and Carlos instantly stands up. "I'd listen to Jay if I were you," he warns, very seriously. "I once saw him almost kill a guy with his bare fists back on the Isle."

That shuts the boys up, and thank Poseidon for that. Guys can be such jerks sometimes.

Finally, Jay dismisses the group. "You're dismissed. See you all," he glanced at me, "tomorrow at one in the gym."

And with that, the team grabs their bags and head upstairs to the outside world. Jay and Carlos walk over to me.

"Hey, sorry about that. Not all natives here are... Supportive of VK's," Jay apologizes.

"Eh, eht's okay. I've endured worse," I respond. "The question is, why did ye stick up for me all this time? We were enemies back on the Isle."

"Because," he glanced at me, knowingly. "I know what it's like coming to Auradon for the first time. Nearly everyone avoided me and the others like we were the plague. But, eventually things got better, like they will for you."

And with that, he claps me on the back, and leaves with Carlos.

Huh. I guess people can change.

I was just about to head back to find (Y/N), when I hear a deep voice from behind me. "I wouldn't leave just yet if I were you."

I whirl around, whipping out my hook for self-defense purposes. "What do ye want? I have a very sharp object, and I'm not afraid to use it."

The guy steps into the light. I see his bright green eyes and instantly know who it is. "You."

"Yes, it is "me." And I have come to warn you."

"About what?"

"(Y/N). There is more to her than meets the eye, and I adivse you to avoid her at all costs."

Avoid the only girl I've ever loved? Not a chance. "And if I don't listen to your advisement?"

"Then you'll regret ever knowing me," he says, gravely, and sinks back into the shadows.

Your POV

I walk back to my dorm as soon as chemistry class ends, exhausted from the long day of school. All I want to do is take a nap.

I unlock my door, and step inside only to see that Maddy is gone yet again. Ever since that night I caught her sneaking in very late, she seemed to have been avoiding me. Whenever I see her in the hallways at school, she just pushes past me, without a single word. And, for the past few days, she hasn't been arriving back in the dorm until a few minutes before curfew.

It's a shame, because I've been meaning to talk to her. But all she allows me to say before she slams the bathroom door, locking herself in for thirty minutes is "Hey, can we-"

Yeah. That's my roommate, AKA ex-best friend, apparently. But, today I don't care. I'm too tired to be anyway.

I flop down on my bed, and close my eyes, beginning to drift off to sleep. But, a tap on the door demolishes any thoughts of sleeping.

I jump up off my bed, sighing. Why did I think I would be able to nap when everyone else is still awake.

Whoever is at my door taps again, this time more violently. "I'm coming!" I say/yell.

I open the door a crack, and see a hook perched slightly away from the door, ready to knock again.

"Well hello, (Y/N), how nice eht is te see ye on this wonderful afternoon."
