Chapter 5: Awaken the Forbidden Art

I woke up that night in a cold sweat, I had a nightmare about when I died, I got ran over and all I could see were my parents and sister in black clothing crying over my grave I got up because it was pretty much morning went to the downstairs of the inn and bought breakfast for 5 copper I have 5 copper 7 silver and 4 gold I sat there for a while and when first light broke the day was finally starting to begin I got up and walked out the door ready to go sign up at the adventurers guild. The adventurer's guild is at the lower end of the city. As I was walking I felt a cold chill go down my spine like someone was watching me. I looked to the sides of the street and I saw for one second in the middle of the crowd a black hooded figure but they disappeared as fast as I saw them. So I kept walking like nothing happened but I felt like something big is about to go down. So I get to the guild it's a nice little cottage looking building I walked in and I saw a bunch of tough manly looking guys in fur and metal armor with huge swords and battle axes and war hammers but I saw one unlike the rest she was a skinny beautiful girl with light armor and a robe with 2 rapiers on her sides holstered in fancy gold tipped leather sheaths and next to her is a burly man in a cloak, and I remember thinking 

"that's a unusual pair"

 but I look away and go to the front desk and I ask how do I sign up to be an adventurer and the whole place went silent. The nice lady at the desk asked me for my name how old I was and what my element affinities were or if I needed to test if I had one she also said the sign-up fee was 1 gold so I handed her a gold coin and said that 

"I don't know what my element affinities are" 

so we went to a weird orb made of glass? Or made some kind of crystal she then said "place your hands on the orb and whatever color it changes to is your element. And if it doesn't light up at all you have no element affinities and therefore can't join. Apparently there is the 4 basic elements then 4 special elements she said 

"if you get a special element it means you'll be a powerful mage no matter what training you get. But between you and me if you get an element like that all of the major factions will be dying to take you for themselves and give you proper training." 

"the four basic elements are blue being water, orange being fire, green being earth, clear being wind. Then the four special elements are yellow being healing, black being darkness, white being ice, and of course the forbidden art of red being blood, but all the blood mages in the kingdom were wiped out centuries ago by Ryuko when he became the first hero, so no need to worry about that. So please sir put your hands on the stone."

 I put my hands on the stone and it almost instantly felt like I fell asleep and woke up in a dream a voice asked me "what do you desire" 

I said "who are you?" 

He answered "it's not important who I am but what you are to become" 

"so what is it?" 

"What in this world do you desire most?"

 "I thought of my family but then I thought about how sad they would become all because of some drunk driver. It infuriated me, all I could see was my body lying in a pool of my own blood then all I could see is RED. Then I woke up only to see the whole place flashing in a bright crimson red as the crystal ball flashed a bright light that the whole place could see. Then the ball exploded and like that in an instant the whole guild went back to its original state but this time everyone was dumbfounded. The women who did the tests said "that's impossible all of the blood mages were wiped out right? RIGHT?!? Yes that has to be it, it was a faulty crystal ball. Yes of course it was faulty. In all the commotion one of the shards of crystal had pierced my hand but I felt no pain i could see the crystal shard in my palm and out the back of my hand but I couldn't feel it. I could see myself bleeding but I felt no pain, so without thinking I ripped it out of my hand and as if my blood was being taken at a infirmary blood sucked out of my hand and formed a katana and my wound restored in a second. While everyone was worried about what had happened no one noticed the crimson blood sythe in my hand except one person it was the burly man in a cloak and the beautiful girl the burly man runs up to me and I think he running at me to kill me but he does something totally unexpected he wraps his cloak around me and whispers "hide that thing in my cloak if you want to live" so I do what he says because it obviously sounds like he knows what he's doing.
