Just like that, I was sent off to Earth without any delay. I honestly was excited to get to live there for a few years, I had traveled there a time or two years ago and it seems quite peaceful. At least compared to the previous war-torn planet I had to live on. In hindsight I suppose it was my family's fault for causing the planet to become like that, not that I had any part in doing so. Regardless, Earth seems like a good place to stay at for the time being. At least I can get to relax a little more without my brother and sister constantly telling me that I'm inferior to them.
I looked up at my brother Abis, who seemed as annoyed as ever, as we walked through a decimated town. It appeared to be deserted for quite some time, it's previous inhabitants either all died or maybe a few managed to flee, not that it matters much anymore. After a few more minutes he stopped walking and began to survey the area.
"This area looks secure enough, let's get this over with," he muttered as he took a square shaped device, pressed a button and tossed it on to the dusty ground. The small square opened up into a much larger flat square that was big enough to stand on. It began to emit a blue light and made a light pulsing noise.
"Oh, mother also instructed me to give you ten thousand credits so here. You have a converter in your bag, so hopefully you're smart enough to know how to use it properly to convert it to Earth's currency. If you can't, then I guess you're screwed," Abis laughed as I let out a small sigh and took the credits which I placed in my bag. I then went to step on the glowing square, but before I could my brother grabbed me by the wrist and made sure I was looking directly at his face. "Just one more thing, don't remove your hood or your cloak before you disguise yourself. Mom will be out for your blood if anyone discovers who you are, as well as several others," he said in a semi-serious tone as he smiled wickedly.
I felt myself being thrown down and hit the square, which enveloped me in it's blue light. For a second, all I could see was the color blue, then a flash of colors rushed through my eyes. After a few seconds, I realized I was laying down on soft green grass. I felt something in my hand and remembered that the teleportation device normally appears in a hand after use. I was still a bit dazed after suddenly being pushed down so it took me a bit to remember what was going on. I slid the device into my bag and stood to my legs. I looked around to see that I had teleported into a park, thankfully it seemed empty today so I probably was not seem by anything but the birds. I took in a deep breath to smell the air, which smelled very clean compared to the other planet I was just on seconds ago.
Since the park appeared to be empty, I walked over to a cluster of hedges to temporarily hide behind. I removed my mask and cloak and put them into my bag. I then took out a mirror to look at myself to decide what to change to look human. The only parts of me that could easily pass as human were my body shape, facial shape and skin. My (e/c) eyes and (h/c) hair were questionable, but could definitely pass with a bit of persuasion. The things that really stood out were my ears, tail and of course my small height. I pulled out two premade serums from my bag which caused my ears to appear as human ones and my tail completely invisible. As long as I took the serums daily my cover would not be blown. There was nothing I could really do about my small height though, technically there was a serum that could temporarily make me taller but it made me ache so much it was not worth it.
The outfit I was already wearing was decent enough to fit in, a short sleeved shirt accompanied by a thin jacket and a skort. I gently placed the mirror back into my bag before poking my head out from to hedges to see if anyone was in the park. There were a few kids out playing with a ball, but other than that the coast was clear. I stepped out from behind the hedges and began to walk through the park while watching the children play. I felt their eyes on me as I walked passed them and soon enough I heard "Hey! Do you want to play soccer with us?" I turned to see the small children looking at me expectantly.
