"Kill them, but why?" I asked. Throne's expression was sad.
"They are bound to you, their life is bound to you. Killing them releases their soul, and the contract they have with you. Sometimes they break away themselves so the master doesn't feel them die." She mumbled the last part to herself, but I still heard it.
I ignored it so I wouldn't be so hard on her. She must have seen many of her kind die from bonds with other masters. I knew I didn't want to know the answer, but it was nagging me. "Throne would you...do that?" I asked cautiously. I didn't want to make her more upset than she was. I was met with silence, then she nodded her head.
I reached out and hugged her. "I would rather feel the pain when you died, rather than you feeling it alone." I told her. She hugged me back tightly. We were like that for a while. Then, we were interrupted by someone clearing their throat.
"YOU KICK ME IN THE BALLS AND SHE GETS A HUG?!" Salem yelled furiously. I stared at him emotionless. He recovered quickly. I guess when you're a demon your balls recover quickly. A look of realization crossed his features. "Never mind, I'm sorry that was no reason to yell. Please, don't burn me to a crisp." He said panicked.
I just smirked at him. That's right Salem, don't piss me off. I looked at Throne and she was glaring at Salem. I guess she hates him no matter what. She told me she was my only servant, so if that's true. Why is Salem here?
"Why are you here, Salem?" I asked him curiously. He looked at me like it was the dumbest question ever.
"I'm waiting for you to give me back my money you owe me." He said impatiently. I shook my head at his ignorance.
"I mean why are you here with me, you're not one of my servants." I said more clearly. I was met with silence once again. Are they really just thinking about things now? Salem sighed and took a seat at the edge of the bed. Throne and I watched him carefully as he sat down. His raven, black hair was back in his eyes. Probably hiding a storm of confusion behind it.
"I was a servant, before my master died. She was beautiful, kind, and lovable. She fell in love with Death himself. He loved her as well. She was pregnant with a girl, but the Underworld doctors said the baby wasn't going to make it. She cried and I couldn't comfort her, I was too young. Then, it was time for the baby to come. It shocked everyone when the baby cried, and even more when the child was healthy. My master...she didn't even get to hold her child before..." He didn't finish.
I saw tears drop from his chin. I went to the edge of the bed and hugged him. He stiffened before relaxing in my arms, but he didn't hug back. "What was your master's name?" I asked.
It was quiet for a minute, until I heard him whisper. "Alice," he looked up at me, "Your real mother." My eyes widened in disbelief. I'm adopted?
"No." I whisper. His cloudy eyes staring at me. I'm adopted.
"So you want to know why I'm here? I'm here to protect you from harm. From everything." He whispered to me. Salem was pushed off the bed by Throne. "You're not protecting her from me though. Got that asshole?" Throne said angrily. I smiled at the both of them. Maybe having them around won't be so bad.
Salem mumbled something under his breath. "What was that Salem?" I asked smirking. He smirked back.
"Nothing, just go get dressed already. You're going to make me hate stripes." He said arrogantly. Well now we're back with the old Salem.
I went into the bathroom to get dressed. I turned on the shower and jumped in. As I was in the shower I thought about my real mother. What was she like? Did I look like her? Did she love me?
I turned off the water and stepped out the shower. "Took you long enough." I turned and saw Salem sitting on the toliet lid. I tried to scream, but he covered my mouth. "Shhh! Throne will kill me if she knows I'm in here." He whispered. My eyes were wide. I'm naked! I kneed him in his jewels. He fell to the floor with a groan. "Should have seen that coming." He groaned in pain.
I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around myself. I tried to grab my clothes and escape, but he grabbed my waist. "Let go!" I yelled. I tried wiggling out of his grasp. I felt his breath on my ear.
"Do you really think that's a good idea?" He asked. I felt something push against my back side. Is that what I think it is?
"Let go of me you pedophile!" I yelled. He put his hand back over my mouth.
"I prefer the term body gazer." He said. He walked in front of me and looked me in the eye. "Listen. I know that's a hard thing for you to do, but just try it okay?" He said seriously.
The nerve of this asshole. I nodded my head since I couldn't speak. "There are people after you, so we have to be careful. Some of them like challenges to get a better reputation. Throne didn't want to tell you, so she could do it by herself." He said. I glared at him.
"You had to come in the bathroom and tell me this because?" I asked. He looked away from me while smirking.
"She is stuck to you like glue, so it's hard to talk to you privately. Also I'm a body gazer. That's all I'm going to say. We're even now." He said. He patted my head before he left the bathroom. I was super red when I looked into the mirror. That asshole.
I looked into the bag that Throne got me. There were a pair of light blue short shorts, black skinny jeans with holes in them, and two band tee shirts with a pair of converses. Wow, she knows I like bands.
I decided to put on the light blue shorts with the Pierce The Veil shirt. I looked in the bottom of the bag and found knee-high socks. They were black and white. I put them on with the converses. I found a brush on the counter with a note attached.
Dear Master,
I bought a brush, toothbrush, toothpaste, pads/tampons, bath liquids, and a straightener. I know you probably needed them.
Love,
Throne
I smiled at the note before throwing it in the trash. I straightened my hair, then left my bangs out as I made a high ponytail. I brushed my teeth, then left the bathroom. I saw Throne on the bed choking Salem. I went back in the bathroom and locked the door.
Why do I always walk out at the wrong time?
