Sometime later, I wake up and look around seeing I’m lying in a white bed with a thin sheet over me, then an IV in my left hand. I’m lying on my back and I see Cloud on my left, sitting on a chair beside me. The room is kind of dark but that’s because the blinds are shut, but I’m glad for that or I could have been blind cause I feel my head is pounding and senses are all messed up.

I sense Cloud can see me waking up, and I feel his hand gently grab my right.

“Hey. How are you feeling?” Cloud asks gently.

“Really really tired and hurting a bit.” I say groggily.

I slowly move a bit and a shot of pain shoots through my torso and I grunt in pain.

“Careful.” Cloud says, putting his hand on my stomach gently.

I weakly look up at him, still with sleep in my eyes.

“What happened?” I ask, realizing where we were. “Where are we?”

“We’re in the Nibelheim hospital.” Cloud says, looking down at me with a bit of sadness. “Do you remember anything?”

I shake my head no and then he moves a few strands of hair off of my face. I close my eyes then open them back up, looking at him.

“The plane crashed. Zack and I brought you and Anna here. You both were in bad condition.” He says. “Really bad injuries.”

“Really?” I ask and notice something. “Then wait, what day is it?”

“It’s July 28th.” He says gently.

“What!? Our trip was in April.” I say and then a shot of pain goes through my head.

“Careful, take it easy babe.” He says, putting his hand gently on my forehead. “3 months.”

“Why? Why so long?” I ask, getting worried a bit.

“Well. You and Anna were hurt so bad that the only way to save your life was to let them put Mako Poisoning and implant Jenova cells inside you.” He says, gently but also sad as if he didn’t want to do that which I know why that is, since he had them and it almost ruined his life cause Sephiroth was able to control him when need be.

“What- Oh my…” I say, feeling about to throw up so I sit up and put my head over the bed.

“Babe. Are you alright?” I hear him say but I don’t say anything back because opening my mouth could cause me to throw up. He then starts gently rubbing my back. “It’s alright babe. I’ve been hear keeping an eye on you and seeing how you react to it. It seems you’ll be ok though, nothing has changed except the fact that you might have some new capabilities but we’ll have to test them out later.”

He rubs my back a bit more until I feel better, then I lean back against the bed.

“Thanks Cloud. For everything.” I say looking up at him weary and he just smiles.

He leans over and gently kisses me.

“I’ve missed kissing you.” He says sounding worried, probably because he thought I might not wake up or they could have pulled the plug before I could wake up, even if I were to.

“Well, I’m awake now. No need to be missing.” I say smiling, lighting up the mood.

“No, I guess not.” Cloud says, kissing me again. He sits back down and looks at me.

Then I hear the door open and Anna and Zack come in.

“Good morning.” Anna says, standing beside my bed holding Zack’s hand.

“Good morning. Why are you more lively then me?” I ask.

Anna looks at me then looks back at Zack.

“Should I tell her?” I hear her whisper.

“Yeah.” Zack says.

He says more but I can’t hear since he was whispering in her ear. Anna turns back and looks at me.

“Well, you were asleep longer than me.” She says.

“Why?” I ask. “Did something go wrong?”

“No, nothing went wrong but… there was a delay. The cut in your chest caused a problem for the scientists where they were having a hard time getting the matter to combine with you.” She says and I’m not sure what to say or how to say it.

“Oh…” Is all I was able to say, looking down at the sheets of my bed.

We sit there for a bit and talk, but the rest of the time I didn’t really say anything.  Just listened to them and stayed quiet.
