It was getting a bit chilly in the evening some times as autumn is approaching and the students are getting ready, especially those who are graduating, for the upcoming CSAT.
Hana was walking on her way to school, scrolling through her phone while listening to some music as she uses her peripheral vision to avoids the traffic.
As she was nearing the gate, she looked up a little before taking her earphones off. When she passed through the gates, her eyes went back to her phone, bumping into a student. The one particular student she has a lot of questions to ask.
"Ah," Seojun said when he noticed it was Hana and quickly turn around to avoid her but she caught his arm.
"Seojun," she uttered but he just looked at her with a straight face.
"What?" he asked.
Hana gulped her saliva down, trying to control herself to not stutter on him, "Can we talk?"
"Well," Seojun glanced up to the floor where their classroom is, "class is starting."
He shakes his arm lightly and Hana took her hand back.
He looked at her again before walking towards the stairs, leaving Hana behind.
She sighed.
During break time, Hana went out of their classroom and peeked through the hallways where Seojun usually is with his friends but there was no Seojun in sight, just three of his friends hanging out.
She walked towards his classroom and peeked through the door. As she was tiptoeing, trying to see where could he be, a hand slams the door she was blocking.
She blinked fast and took a step back, not expecting someone to startle her.
Hana hit her back unto something hard and when she looked up to see who or what it was, she was met by Seojun's strong gaze. As quick as lightning, she jerked to move away from him.
Her mouth hangs open, but she doesn't know what to tell him.
Again, he just looked at her before sliding the door and entering the classroom.
His friends saw it and they decided to pry on Hana.
"Hey, you're Jung Hana, right?" one of Seojun's friend asks.
"Yeah?"
"What was that all about? Did you two get into a fight?" another friend of his asked.
"Uh, no. Not like that."
Seojun saw through the small transparent window on the door what's happening. His feet moved and walked towards the door, opening it.
"Hey, we got class," he told his friends.
The three of them went inside, Hana was about to say something when Seojun shut the door.
She groaned, "*ssh*le!" she whispered.
The bell rang, indicating it's time for lunch. The students scurried their way out of their classrooms, trying to get to the cafeteria earlier than anyone.
Hana calmly took a bag and followed her friends towards the cafeteria.
She made lunch.
It was when the three, Suho, Eunji and her, Hana, arrived at her place. After the commotion, Seojun made right outside her apartment building.
Hana made her way into the kitchen to get Suho a pack of ice to put on his bruise. Luckily, Seojun didn't get too hard on Suho or he could've got more than just a throbbing pain.
"Here," she said, handing the ice pack on Suho.
He took it and sat on her couch comfortably.
"I'm sorry," she apologized.
"What are you apologizing for?" Eunji asked. She was on the other side of the couch, sitting on the arm.
"If only I didn't make Seojun mad, this wouldn't have happened."
"Right, what happened anyway?" Eunji asked.
Hana sighed before saying anything. She's afraid Suho might take it the other way, she knew he's kind and generous but she's scared he might think she's taking advantage of it to the point where she would date him. But, she felt it's the right thing to do. Telling them the truth. Everything, with no filter.
"I see," Suho said calmly.
"You see?" Hana said.
"Hana, if you give Seojun something and traded it with what the other girl gave him, what does that mean to you?" Suho asked.
"I want him to only have mine?"
"Ding dong daeng!" Eunji clapped.
"Uh," she said, still trying to process everything.
"It means he feels that way when he saw you with my jacket," he said.
"But, Suho is like a brother to me. It doesn't matter, right?"
Eunji tsked and shook her head, waving a finger.
"Seojun liked you for way too long, even before you guys bumped into each other again, Hana." Eunji raised her voice.
"No way, we haven't seen each other for years after the incident," she said.
"Meaning to say, he likes you even before the incident," said Eunji, getting frustrated at her cousin.
"I highly doubt," she said.
Suho stood and placed the ice pack on the center table, "trust me, he does."
Hana entered the cafeteria and saw the students filling up the seats one after another. She sighed and clutched the bag where her packed lunch is.
"Hana," Eunji called her and pointed at a person, "there he is."
Hana looked at the person Eunji's pointing at, Seojun. He was with his friends but he doesn't have a tray in front of him.
She closed her eyes, trying to summon a great amount of courage when Eunji and Sua pushed her to get her moving.
She was trying to rehearse some lines in her mind as she's approaching them. But when Seojun's sight landed on her, he sighed and stood up. Hana hurried and because of her sudden movement, she tripped herself.
She bit her lower lip, not wanting to raise her head. She doesn't want any attention, she just wanted to get to Seojun.
"Hey, you okay?"
Her eyes widen hearing the voice of who came to her rescue, slowly lifting her head up, she saw Seojun, worrying.
"Can you stand?" he asked.
"Yeah," she stutter.
Seojun helped her get up and took the bag she's holding.
"Here," he said.
He was about to walk away when she grabbed the back of his uniform.
"Can we share lunch?"
She offered, the students near her heard her. As much as she hates the attention and the whispers of her schoolmates, she has no other choice but to tell him at that exact moment, afraid he might leave her again.
Seojun sighed and faced her.
He stared at her for seconds making her heart beat faster.
"Okay."
