Seojun received a text from Hana just as soon as he arrived home.
"Haseo ㅠㅠ I totally forgot the cake you brought!"
He was walking towards his room as he reads it, chuckling at the message when he finished and started typing a response for Hana, "Don't worry about it. I bought it for you."
He closed his bedroom door, still with his phone at hand and took his shirt off, tossing it on the chair before flopping on his bed.
His phone vibrated, he looked at it immediately.
"I can't finish all this. Why not eat it together?"
'Do I have to go back to her house?' he thought. He was trying to think of a response when Hana texted again, "Why not I come by to your house tomorrow?"
Seojun's eyes widened, his face was red as he felt his face burning, "Are you sure?"
"Would that be alright? If you're busy, it's fine."
Seojun gulped, he sat up, roaming his eyes around his room, scanning it, "Sure, see you tomorrow."
"Alright, at noon then. Goodnight."
If he could stammer through text, he had stammered as they exchanged messages.
"Goodnight, Hana."
The next day, Seojun woke up early. He washed his face and as soon as he wiped off the water, he took off the shirt he had on and grabbed all cleaning materials they had to start cleaning the whole house.
All his fuss got his mother and sister woken up from their sleep. Gowoon rubbed his eyes, half-asleep when she exited her room.
"Seojun, it's 6 in the morning. What's--" the sight of her brother cleaning furiously woke her up completely. "Seojun!" She yelled.
Their mother, who didn't mind the fuss and went back to bed, jerked up when she heard Gowoon yelling her brother's name. She immediately ran outside her room and as soon as she saw Seojun, her jaw dropped.
"What happened to Seojun?" Mrs. Han asked, not taking her eyes off her son.
They're used to Seojun working for them but the farthest thing they've seen Seojun do household chores are washing the dishes and doing his own laundry. Not cleaning the whole house to sparkle.
"Mom, is he sick?" Gowoon asked, still can't believe what she's seeing.
Seojun kept mopping the floor. It's the third time he mopped the floor since he started cleaning and for him, he needs to clean every crook and cranny of their house. After he's done, he entered the bathroom and started polishing the tiles. It's not Seojun's cleaning that surprised them but the determination he wore on his face like there's a royalty visiting their premises.
"Mom," Gowoon said quietly, "I think he has a girl over."
"A girl?" Mrs. Han's ears perked up with Gowoon's words. She immediately opened the fridge, looked at the cabinets to scan for some ingredients. After her investigation, she looked at Gowoon seriously and said in a most serious tone, "we'll go to the market now."
Gowoon sighed as she rolled her eyes, 'my family has gone crazy.'
After hours of cleaning the whole house including their bedrooms, especially his, he rested for a bit.
He took his phone and the time reads 10:46 in the morning. He groaned, too tired to move, the cleaning drained his energy and he was too excited to sleep properly the night before.
He decided to send Hana a text, "Good morning. Already awake?"
Hana responded immediately, "I am. I was just reviewing a little."
Seojun can't believe his eyes, Hana's still studying even on Sunday. He thought how could he deserve someone like her.
"I was wondering if you could join us for lunch? My mom learned and said she'd cook."
"Oh, how sweet. I'd love to."
Seojun grinned and sent his last message before hopping in the shower, "take care of yourself on your way."
Seojun was deciding which one to wear when he heard a fuss outside at the living room.
"Seojun, your friend's here!" His mom yelled.
'Crap!' he thought.
He quickly put on a plain white shirt and a pair of black shorts and quickly dried his hair with a towel. He brushed his wet hair using his fingers and went out of his room after a small spray of cologne.
"Hey," Seojun greeted her.
Gowoon raised her eyebrow on her brother but chose to shrug it off.
"She brought us fruits," Gowoon said, pointing at the basket laid on the counter.
"You carried that all the way here?" Seojun raised his voice a little in surprise. Hana only laughed sheepishly as she admitted it with a nod. "That thing is heavy, what are you doing?"
"Now, now, she just got here. Don't be hard on her, son." Their mom interfered.
He sighed, "sorry."
"Let's eat," Mrs. Han said and they all took their places.
"This will be the first time I'm going to eat proper home-cooked meal in months," Hana excitedly announced.
"What about your mom, if you don't mind?" Mrs. Han asked.
"Oh, they're at our hometown. My sister and I used to live together but she's now in college," she answered politely.
"But you cook," Seojun said before eating his meal.
"I do, but it's just for myself and a few. I would love to eat a mother's meal."
Mrs. Han watched her expression and felt bad, "you can come here as often as you like. After all, you're my son's girlfriend."
Seojun choked on his food and was punching his chest trying to feel better. Gowoon passed him a glass of water and he was drinking when his mom said something again, "I assumed you were since he fussed himself in cleaning the whole house."
Seojun spits out some of the water, thankfully, he looked away from the table and from them when he did.
"Mom!" He said, embarrassed, "you're not supposed to say that."
"Oh, sorry," she said, but it was obvious she did it on purpose just to tease him.
