It's six o'clock in the morning...go marching band! I'm a little too excited for today. My first day marching with a whole new band. I feel like a freshman all over again. As I lay here, the only thing I can think about is whether or not I'm gonna fit in. I guess I better get up...nah I'll lay here for another five minutes.

Crap!!! It's 7:30, I have ten minutes. Great way to start off my first day at band. I better hurry. As I'm throwing on my clothes my dad knocks on my door to tell me to eat breakfast. Does he seriously think I have time to eat right now? Uh no. I rush to the bathroom take down my hair. I took a shower the night before and braided my hair. Not thinking that now it's wavy. Well, no time to straighten it so out the door we go. I grab a banana, my makeup, and my trumpet then start to head out the door.

My dad was already waiting for me in the car. It's 7:46, I still got 14 minutes. I do my makeup and eat my banana in the car. Of course, my dad tells me not to worry about my makeup because I already look beautiful. Well with my acne I don't always feel that way. I know it's not really bad, it's inly a little bit here and there but that doesn't make it bother me any less. I thank him for the compliment an continue on blending my concealer.

We finally arrive at Ray's Grove, it only took 12 minutes. I go inside and immediately become overwhelmed with how huge it is, I see a map in my future. Somehow I manage to find the band room. No one is in there, I guess 2 minutes early is late. I put my stuff down and look around, I find Mr. Noble who is the band director, I think. I find out everything that's going on, I'm not entirely enrolled yet, so I have to have an interview. I call my dad, tell him everything, and he comes to the school.

We meet with the guidance counselor to get all the paper work after filling it all out and turning it back in we set up an appointment. We wait about 30 minutes till finally a woman comes and takes us to an office of the same guidance counselor from before. At this point I'm about an hour late for practice.

This just happened to be her first year as a guidance counselor ever, I'm just that lucky. Poor women didn't know very much about anything, we eventually finished my interview and I was now an official student of Ray's Grove High School.

My dad leaves telling me to behave myself and not cause to much trouble. I promise to be a good girl then try an retrace my steps to the band room, get out my trumpet, and walk around the school a bit till I finally find the door I'm suppose to use to get to the practice field. As Music fills my ears my stomach has now turned to a butterfly cage, nerves on overload. I see Mr. Noble on top of the band tower, he doesn't see me yet. "This is Roselia everyone," I hear Mr. Noble say, I guess he spotted me. "Please welcome her to the Spartan family." My brain doesn't seem to respond but my hand knows exactly what to do, I wave and was towards the other trumpets. Someone shows me my spot in the first set, I think her name was Cinthya. Standing there awkwardly as everyone says hi and asks me what my name is. People here seem really nice and I really think I might like it here.
