Tuesday was so much better, and by Friday Ray's Grove is getting better and better. William might have a little to do with that, I'm actually starting to like him a lot. Amelia tells me I should ask him if he likes me, so I might just do that. I'll ask him in band today.
Band class comes and I got all the courage I need to ask William if he likes me. All I do is walk up and ask if I could talk to him about something. Of course he said I could. Then it just comes out, I honestly don't understand how I have the guys to ask if he likes me but I can't even say hi to anyone in any of my classes. Cheers to being socially awkward.
We stand there for a bit before he even answers my question, like he wasn't honestly sure himself. Then came the bitter-sweet news. "Rose you are an amazing friend and it's been amazing getting to know you better but I don't
like you as anything other than a friend." While the confusion and sadness sinks in, I think to myself about how stupid I truly am. "But you called me beautiful, and said I meant a lot to you?" He looks into space for a second, gathering his words I suppose. "You are a very beautiful girl, but that doesn't mean I like you. anyone with eyes knows your beautiful. And you do mean a lot to me, I care about you so much just as a friend. Your a great friend that I would hate to lose." Actually hearing him say all this didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would. I'm glad I asked, and honestly I'm glad he doesn't feel the same way. Now I can focus on school and nothing else. Hopefully.
