Soon, the sun began setting and we were forced to head home. After asking for directions from a seemingly friendly gnome, we made it back to the Mystery Shack. I flopped onto the yellow chair and let out a tired sigh from the long distance we walked.
"Ugh... I'm so tired, I could sleep for forever!" I complained.
"Well, I don't think we have anything planned for tomorrow. You should be able to sleep in." Dipper reassured, sitting on the giant skull next to the chair.
"Plan change!" Mabel shouted while running through the doorway with her hands in the air. "I asked Soos if we could host a party celebrating (Y/N)'s arrival! It's been exactly a week, and we haven't thrown a party this summer yet!"
I sighed again. "Dang it..."
"Aw, come on! It'll be fun! Pleeeeeeeeaaase?"
"Fine..." I begrudgingly agreed.
"Yay!" She hugged me and ran off upstairs.
"Hey, speaking of a party," Dipper began, "Where's our clones, Tyrone and (N/N)?"
"I'm not really sure how that correlates to the party," I spoke while standing up from my spot on the chair, "But I honestly don't know where they've been."
Dipper and I shrugged and went upstairs to get ready for bed.
When I layed down and Mabel turned off the lights, I thought I would fall asleep immediately after the tiring walk. In reality, I just stared at the ceiling with heavy eyelids. I tried turning on my side to face Dipper's bed to get a more comfortable position. Then I started feeling like I was being watched.
Turns out I was...
But it was just Dipper.
"Having trouble sleeping again?" He whispered. I nodded. "Wanna head up to the roof?" I nodded again and sat up, eventually standing and walking out the door with Dipper. When we arrived at the roof, we sat down and dangled our legs over the side.
I looked up at the sky and watched the starts twinkle... It was so peaceful just sitting in comfortable silence with Dipper next to me. It lasted a while, but eventually, Dipper broke it.
"Why weren't you able to sleep? You complained about being tired as soon as we got home." He asked and I shrugged.
"Not sure. Maybe I just wasn't ready for the day to end." I gave a light chuckle.
"So, are you excited any about the party?" I shifted my gaze to him.
"I guess so... I'm mainly looking forward to the the snacks!" I giggled and heard Dipper laugh shortly after. "What about you?" I tilted my head in curiosity.
"Well..." He looked away and rubbed his neck. "I guess I'm looking forward to hanging out with you more..."
Thankfully it was too dark for him to see me blush, so I just giggled and looked down.
"Me too." We sat in silence for a little while longer until Dipper yawned. "You can go back to bed if you're tired, you know." I suggested and turned to look back at him.
"I know... I just..." He shrugged, "Don't want to."
"You seem tired, Dipper. You should get some sleep. I have a feeling tomorrow's going to be a little exausting."
"But what about you? Are you just gonna be up here alone?"
"I'll be fine, you don't have to worry about me."
He sighed and went back to his room and I stayed up on the roof. It wasn't as calming without Dipper there, but it was reassuring to know he was getting some rest.
