-(Y/N)'s POV-
Dipper and I went on with the day normally, or at least as normal as it gets in Gravity Falls.
We went outside to see if the fair was close to being set up. It was almost done, Soos was touching up some of the unstable rides. We looked around and saw Mabel playing with Waddles by a food stand, then decided to pass by the Grunkles and walk up to her.
"Hey Mabel." I greeted her with a relaxed voice.
"Oh, hi! Aren't you excited for the fair to start? Soos says it'll be at least two percent safer than last year!" She picked up Waddles and shot us a big grin.
"Hopefully this time there wont be any time traveling." Dipper sighed playfully as he looked at Waddles in Mabel's hands.
"Yeah, I'd like to keep my pig for another year!" Mabel said in annoyance, but also jokingly.
"I said I was sorry!" Dipper laughed, then Mabel joined in.
Soon after, we heard Soos shouting on a megaphone to everyone in the middle of the fair while standing on a short step-stool.
"Hey dudes! Get ready! The fair's about to start!" He yelled, then people began filtering in. The rides were starting up, and children were running and chasing each other around. A couple sped by Dipper, causing him to almost fall as he, Mabel, and I walked together towards Soos to talk. Soos turned to look at us. "Oh, guys! Isn't this great? My first time running the Mystery Shack Fair! It's awesome!"
"It sure is!" Mabel grinned. "I can't wait to have even more fun than last year!"
We kept talking for a while, planning what rides we would go on or games we would play first. As we talked, we saw Mill and Will walking towards us while having their own conversation. Mill was holding a question mark corn dog, discussing the odd shape with Will.
She ended her conversation and greeted us."Hey guys!" She said enthusiastically and glanced around us, looking at our appearances. She noticed Dipper's journal in my hands, and furrowed her brows. I hid the journal behind my back in suspicion.
Mabel smiled. "Hey! We didn't know you guys were coming!"
"We decided to stop by," Mill explained, "Thought it might be something fun to do today."
Mill was smiling but Will seemed less thrilled. He had a worried expression and was biting his nails.
"Woah, Will, you doing alright?" I asked him. Will looked up from his hands to glance at us before quickly looking down again to avoid eye contact.
"Oh... Y-yeah... I'm f-fine... d-don't worry ab-bout me!" He stuttered anxiously and smiled awkwardly.
I looked at Dipper, and he had the same confused expression on his face as I did.
"He's fine," Mill said, "Just a little shaken up is all... He, uh..." she looked around trying to find something to say... "Our parents grounded him... so now he can't have any friends come over for a month... he doesn't take punishment well, heh..." Will gave Mill a terrified look. She looked at us seeing if we bought her clear lie.
Dipper, Mabel, and I pretended to understand, maybe something serious was wrong with Will they didn't want to talk about...
Will grabbed Mill's wrist and pulled her out of the way. He whispered to her frantically. Their conversation ended and Mill told us they had to go home.
It was suspicious to me, and I was extremely curious. I told the twins I was going into the Shack to get something, but in reality, I decided to follow Mill and Will to their house.
