The Hunt (Original Story)

The Drusk

The group ran after the dog, hoping to find it soon.
"Where is he!?" Will yelled out before something dropped behind them. They all quickly turned around to see a skinned corpse.
"What is that?" Olivia asked, she covers her mouth.
"I think.....that's my dog!" Will said.
Richard's sister quickly hugged her older brother, a skinned dog is the last thing a little girl wants to see.
"Wait.....wasn't it just dropped?" Isabella asked as she looked up at the ceiling. Will took a step forward and was picked up by absolutely nothing by his arms.
"AH! AH! GET ME DOWN!" He yelled as blood trickled down his arm. As the blood went down whatever was holding Will began to phase into sight. Will looked up as whatever held him finished uncloaking itself. Bright blue eyes looked down at him, needle like teeth with gills on its neck. It was a humanoid with a webbed fin on its back with a long tail. It pulled Will up face to face as it opened its mouth, it's jaws went forward, unhinging from its skull like a shark and bit down on Will's face.
"Will! Remain calm!" Dave said as he went to grabbed Will.
The creature then quickly turned its head, snapped his neck and making the body limp. The creature then dropped Will to the ground on top of his dog as it looked at the group and growled.
"Run!" Dave yelled as everyone turned around and began to run down the hall. The creature growled as it cloaked itself, and began to chase the students. They ran as fast as they could as they heard a loud roar through the halls. It wasn't high pitched or deep, but it sounded like a beast of Hell. The creature, still cloaked, stopped and looked at a vent before growling and crawling through, slipping through the small opening with ease.
The students ran into the cafeteria and shut the door behind them, barricading it.
"What was that thing!? Why was it eight feet tall?!" Dave said, freaking out over what he just saw.
"M-maybe we should stay calm and quiet." Olivia said.
"No! We can't do that! I just saw my friend get killed!" Dave yelled out. As he yelled the sound of a thud in the vents was heard above them. Something was also heard dragging across the vent metal. The sound stopped before the sound of water dripping was heard. They all looked by the lunch line area to see water dripping from the vents.
"How did he get in there?!" Dave yelled out as the vent shot off its hinges and hit the floor below.
"Hide" Isabella whispered as everyone went to a different spot of the cafeteria as the creature lowered itself slowly, it's tail lowering it, into the room and quickly went to the ground. Its gills opened up as it shot out slime to the side, and from its skin, but the most coming out of its gills like a hose. It then looked around as it moved into the kitchen area to begin its search, it's tail dragging across the ground.
Olivia began to slowly move backwards, trying remain quiet and towards the door.
"What are you doing?" Isabella whispered as the creature ran back out into the dining area, Olivia quickly going back down to the ground as the creature stood on a table and began vibrating its vocal cords, shattering the glass casing behind it. It then cloaked itself, no one was able to see it. Olivia grabbed a coin in her pocket and tossed it at the door. Within seconds the barricades were broken, it was obvious where the creature was, and that it was distracted. The group used this opportunity to escape the cafeteria.
