I was seated on the picnic mat watching my husband, Ansel and our two kids playing at a distance.

We had been married for six years now with two kids to show for it. Our first Ariana was five. I decided to name her after my mother. She had Ansel's dirty blonde hair and his shape of nose but she had my eyes.

Our second, Cole was three years. He looked a lot like Ansel but he had my dark hair colour which suited him. He had come out premature so he wasn't able to hear. When I had learnt this I felt sad, that he wouldn't be able to hear.

Though we were able to get him hearing aids, at first, I blamed myself for it. I even had postpartum depression for some months but Ansel was with me throughout. He was as patient as ever with me. Even when I would get all moody and yell at him for the littlest things he would give me a small smile and lace our hands, a reminder he was always here.

It had not been an easy six years. There were times we would argue over silly things and what would bring us back would be Ariana's cries where we would both frantically try and calm her down.

CJ had left, and we decided to encourage her to go to college. She was at first shy and reluctant about the whole idea but she later warmed up to it and left.

Cory and Oscar had decided to spend the rest of their days in a retirement home and we were happy for them. Nicola had gone to live with her nephew in Cuba.

Ansel didn't want her to go at first but she decided she wanted to spend the rest of her life with the last member of her family since her brother and his wife were late and she didn't have children. Meaning it was just her and her nephew.

Mekhi had retired and went back to France. Apparently, when we had gone for our weekend in Paris he had run into an old friend whom he developed feelings for. We were both happy for him.

Jessie had given birth to a boy and said she was on hold in the baby-making factory for a while which made me laugh especially when Caleb whined that he wanted six kids.

Daphne was still living her life. She felt she wasn't ready to settle down. Though Theresa would always tease her and ask when she would get a son-in-law.

Parker and Blaire got married and I was happy that Parker had taken my advice to listen to his heart.

Paloma on the other hand had left Davis, turns out he wasn't her Prince charming, so she was still waiting and searching while also giving me updates.

I didn't go back to work but from time to time I would do personal jobs, just to keep doing what I loved, designing.

May and Jamie were now with two kids, Laurie and Bree. They decided not to do the 'naming kids after months' stuff and I laughed at the idea. They had been with us all through and we had also been with them. We were now like siblings who were glued to the hip.

Cole's giggles brought me back to the now. I smiled as Ansel chased them both till they came running and hiding behind me.

"Mummy, mummy shhh, daddy cannot find out that we're here.", Ariana said as she and Cole ducked behind me. I laughed and they shushed me again.

Ansel came and stopped in front of me. He pretended to put on a thinking face.

"I wonder where those little troubles are.", he said and Cole giggled. "Aha! There they are", he said and scooped them both in his hands before they could leave.

Ariana struggled to get free from his grip while Cole just giggled. He tickled them again before setting them down beside me. Cole was still laughing as he hugged me.

"Mummy, you told on us.", Ariana whined and I shook my head.
"No. It was all Cole.", I said and now Ansel sat beside me

"C'mon Cole, mum is now on daddy's side, let's go plan our next move.", Ariana said helping Cole up and they both left.

"You're still playing that game with them?", I asked. Ansel had come up with this silly game where he would chase them and tickle them. Then they would go and plan, according to Ariana, their next move.

"It's not a game, it's a life lesson.", he said.
"Life lesson? What exactly are you teaching them, how to never stop laughing."
"Exactly. How to never stop laughing", he said and I smiled.

We laid back so we were lying on the mat. There was an umbrella to shield us from the sun.

"Ansel",
"Hmm"
"I love you", I said and he looked at me with a loving look, one I would never get tired of.
"And I love you more.", he said and I smiled before he leaned it to kiss me.

And there I was kissing the man of my heart. I couldn't believe I thought marrying him was a terrible mistake.

No, it was a perfect mistake.
