Cailey expected a silent ride to whichever city or town Rick was driving to. She was wrong. Within a few minutes of leaving the prison, Rick reached into his bag and pulled out a dusty old disc. Cailey clocked an eyebrow a little, trying to figure out what he was doing. Friar rested his head on her lap from where he sat on the floor.

Rick put the disc in the CD drive of the van, a smile on his face. Cailey's brows relaxed as she rolled her eyes. "God."

"Give me the downbeat, maestro!"

Rick began snapping his fingers and nodding his head to the beat. His movements got a little more dramatic as the country song blared on. Cailey rolled her eyes again and rested her face in one hand. She ran her other hand through Friar's fur. The dog stared at Rick.

"Well if the music's gonna move me," Rick shouted along, "Well, first it's gotta have a beat. No, I don't wanna sit down all night, I've, I've gotta feel it in my feet!"

Friar began howling. Rick couldn't help but laugh as he kept singing and bobbing his head down the road. The car was shaking with the noise of the radio and Rick singing and Friar howling. Cailey only sighed with her face still in her hand.

"C'mon, Cailey! You can't tell me you don't know this song," the sheriff's Southern accent rung.

"I don't," she declared indignantly.

Rick laughed at Friar again and kept singing loudly. "Did you hear me? Then what did I say?I said action packed do do wa do wa do wa!"

Rick kept up the act for over a half hour. He finally turned the music down several minutes after getting off the Interstate, letting the volume die down. He decided to drive the rest of the way with the music down low.

"Would you grab out that map right there, find out where we needa get off this road right here?"

Cailey reached down and grabbed the map by Friar's feet. She opened it, trying to figure out where they were. Rick thought she wouldn't be able to figure out the map until he heard her finger hit the page.

"I think two-thirty-four," she mumbled.

"All right," Rick nodded. "We should be there in pro'lly ten or fifteen minutes. We need medicine the most, then warm clothes and food and whatever else we can find. We stick together, we haven't been to these parts yet."

"Aight." Cailey rested one foot up on the dashboard, Friar's head resting in one of her hands on her lap.

Rick shooed the girl's boot away. "Keep your feet off the dashboard, you raised by wolves?"

A little snort came from Cailey, but she put her foot back on the floor and stared out the window. They passed by a few stray walkers, but otherwise nothing threatening. Rick kept driving through a small town, and he passed by all the tiny broken-down stores and homes. Cailey kept watching boredly out the window.

Rick pulled past the town and down another street until the buildings got bigger and closer together. He rode around a few dead walkers, and between two buildings. He parked right in the narrow alley.

Cailey tried to open the door. It wouldn't open more than an inch. She couldn't push it farther without breaking it on the brick wall. The girl groaned and rolled her eyes. Rick was having the same issue.

"Well, we can go through the sunroof," the sheriff decided.

"Awesome," Cailey muttered. She pulled the window at the top of the car open, and began climbing out. Friar crawled up to the center console to follow his owner.

Rick watched as Cailey lifted her dog out the sunroof, and he followed. The two people slid down the back of the car, and Friar landed with a click of his nails. Cailey already had her bow out and ready. She began strutting off towards one of the buildings.
