once all the losers were done eating, and once they were done cleaning up the whip cream richie sprayed everywhere, they left and started walking to the park. richie threw his arm around bill, pulling him close next to him. "aw! look at this! little billy has chocolate still on his face!" he grinned, licking the boys cheek before getting pushed off.
"you're so gross richie." bill shook his head, whipping his cheek with his sleeve. stan rolled his eyes, before looking at mike and laughing. bev and ben were in their own conversation, talking about new kids on the whatever, richie didn't care.
they all walked up to the park, immediately running over to the swings that were empty. "trashmouth get off my swing!" bev yelled, attempting to push richie off. "ms. marsh go find somewhere else to play!" richie yelled, before stan came behind richie and pushed him out of the swing, bev quickly taking his spot.
"fuck you stan!" richie rolled his eyes, leaning against a pole. he looked around the park, his eyes landing on a boy that was laying on a dark blue blanket, wearing baby blue overalls with a white sweatshirt underneath. he was also laying on his stomach coloring in a sketch book, or coloring book, richie was too blind to tell from this far. he had a backpack next to him, with markers and books spread out across the blanket.
richie bit back a smile, turning to the group of losers he was with, noticing they were all in their own conversations. he then walked over to the boy coloring, noticing how cute his curly hair is. "hey." richie spoke, looking down at the small boy.
he then looked up, making eye contact with richie. he felt a deep pink blush spread across his face as he noticed how beautiful the boy was. he had the most beautiful brown eyes with long eyelashes, tan skin that had freckles sprinkled all over it, soft pink lips, and the most beautiful milky brown curly hair.
"hi." the small boy spoke, his voice soft and high pitched. richie smiled softly, looking at what the boy was drawing. it was a stream with flowers and trees all around it. "holy shit! that's so good!" richie grinned, sitting down next to the boy.
he giggled as he watched richie sit down, before looking back at the drawing. "it's not that good- but i try." he said. "i'm eddie." he smiled, looking up at the tall boy before getting up and sitting on his knees. "i'm richie."
eddie nodded, before looking behind the boy. "are those your friends?" he pointed to the group of people staring at them. richie rolled his eyes, flipping them off. "fuck off!" he yelled, before turning back to the smaller boy. "my bad- that's bev, mike, stan- well stanley, but we call him stan cause he has an old man name and it's ugly. there's ben and bill also."
eddie smiled, nodding then looking back down at his drawing. richie awkwardly coughed, it being obvious the small boy didn't talk much. "h-how come i've never seen you around? like at school?" richie asked, noticing how the small boy shifted uncomfortably and stuffed his sketchbook in his backpack.
"my mom homeschools me." he spoke quietly, hiding his face from embarrassment. richie grinned, nudging eddies side. "is she hot?" he smirked, winking once the boy looked up at him. "no- ew?"
"man- what a bummer." he huffed, noticing how eddies nose wrinkled up in disgust and he thought it was adorable. "now now, eds. i'm joking." he smiled, watching as eddie rolled his eyes.
"it's eddie." he spoke, crossing his arms adorably. "eds is perfectly f-" he was cut off by bev, walking over and flicking his head. "cmon idiot, the movie starts in twenty minutes and i want good seats." she turned around, running back up to their group.
"sorry eds- i gotta go. i completely forgot about us seeing a movie. i'll see you around." richie smiled, before getting up and running over to them. once they were out of site, eddie frowned, letting out a sigh he didn't know he was holding. he backed up his stuff, dreading going home.
