I smiled and waved goodbye to the customer. It's been a busy day at my bakery. It's the summer holidays and all kinds of parties are taking place. Weddings, engagements, birthday, very stressful. I looked out the window. The streets seem to be deserted. I decided to get cracking on those cakes.
~Few hours later~
I've been baking and baking for hours. So far I've made 4 wedding cakes, 12 batches of buns, 2 birthday cakes and an engagement cake. I've had a few more customers come in too. They all brought bread and what not. I looked over at the clock on my wall. Closing time. I got up and walked to the door. I flipped the sign over so it said: Sorry Closed. Then I packed up the till and all that. I gave some of the bread to my chickens, but I saved a few loaves. Then it started raining. I went into my kitchen and lit a fire. Then I made hot chocolate. The old fashioned way though. Just as I was about to take a sip, there was banging on the shop door. I went through the shop and opened the door. There standing in the rain was a boy with spikey brown hair, and amber eyes. He croaked out,"Can I come in?" "Of course you can!" I replied. I let him in and brought him to the back. I sat him down in front of the fire. I ran to the storage closet and grabbed a fluffy blanket. I ran back to the kitchen and put the blanket across the boys shoulders. I made more hot chocolate and gave it to him. The boy took a sip and smiled happily. "Are you hungry?" I asked. He nodded in response. So I cut up a loaf of bread and put the slices on a skinny metal pole. I then placed the pole above the fire and turned it. The boy looked at me questionly. "I'm making toast," I explained. He nodded again. He drained his mug and set it down on the ground. "Thank you," he told me. I smiled and said,"No problem. I'm (y/n)! Who are you?" The boy smiled and said "Nice to meet you. I'm Kai." I looked at the toast. Toasted to perfection. I got out 2 plates and put the toast on them. After that I buttered the toast, gave Kai his plate and sat in the armchair with mine. Then me and Kai chatted for a bit. I checked the time again. Midnight. I smiled at Kai and said,"I'm going to bed. Please stay in the spare bedroom. I can't have you going out in that weather." Kai smiled at me. "Goodnight (y/n)," he said. "Goodnight Kai," I replied. Then I went to bed.

Soooo sorry for not updating. As I mentioned in the last author note, my friend back stabbed me by telling my dad that I forgot to do my homework for 2 days and that I was copying off my friend. I ignored her for an entire day😆. But anyway I forgave her. So were friends again. So I was banned for a week but I'm back!!! I know this might be a bit over a week, but I was very busy. But it's midterm so I'm gonna update sooner. So ya that's about it.
