Arkadia - June 4th
Sandy woke up in dark and dimly-lit room... She thought it looked like an old hospital room, the kind she had seen in movies, and some of the shows she liked, but at the same point, she felt like something was off. Maybe it was that her head and body ached every time she looked at certain spots on the walls. Or the dull ringing sounds in her head and ears... then she realized it might be her."Hello?" she called into the dark. No response, but the echoing sound which also sounded strangely. She called out several more times, but to no avail. "Hello! Someone want to tell me where I am and what I'm doing here?" she called into the echoing madness that seemed to be reverberating throughout the halls. Her mind was doing flipflops, the room was shaking... then it started to spin. "What's going on here?!" she called out in panic.
"Well, you might want to get off the table for one thing..." came a familiar voice.
"Jackson!" she breathed out, relieved to see her best friend, the knot that was building in her chest starting to loosen. "Huh? What table?" she looked around and saw she was on a table of sorts. "Oh, well, who decided I needed to be on a table? Am I strapped down? What kind of party is this?"
"Glad you're awake." Jackson said smiling at his friend before promptly cocking at eyebrow and asking, "What kind of parties have you been attending lately? I don't recall an invite."
"Nevermind..." she blushed. "Help me up."
Jackson did as he was asked; moving lamps and other debris out of the way and aiding her to sit upright. He placed his arms around her waist and helped her slide to her feet.
"Thanks. I was starting to get..." she started to say before her conscious state decided to take a nap. Jackson was able to catch her as she fell and she stayed pressed against him for a few moments before he helped her into a nearby chair. "Dizzy... Ok, when everything stops spinning, you can fill me in on some details...""Yea, umm..." Jackson started eloquently, brushing her hair out of her face. " So, I'll try to take it slow, but it gets crazy pretty quickly... so you may want something to hold on to."
"Do you count?" She half-smiled grabbing onto his hand and she had done so many times before and fastened her hold. Sandy wasn't sure she wanted to hear anything crazier than this room, but better all the info than none, she decided. "Alright, I'm ready... Tear off the bandage."
Jackson proceeded to tell her all about her passing out, bringing her in here, The Riz & The Unraveling process, Qu'elka, The Sibling Network, and last, but not least, bringing her out of the stages... but even though there was a lot, she felt like he was holding something back.
"So, bad news, it sounds like you're no longer a part of the club... but good news, at least you won't have to deal with all this mess." he tried to assure her motioning to his head. "I'm seeing and hearing things you wouldn't believe and I still am trying to cope with..." he gesticulated into the air. "Some much bigger news..."
"Crap, do I have to take an oath or something? Is this going to cost us?" rolling her eyes.
"I don't know... Don't think so." Jackson was clearly trying to say something that wasn't coming out properly. "But... there's this thing."
He won't look me in the eyes... Why won't he look at me? She thought, panic rising to the surface once more. It's me, isn't it? There's something wrong with me and he doesn't want to tell me.
