Jason's POV
Jason had to break up with Piper. Jason had to do that because of- well, Reyna. And it really hurt him to do that to Piper, but it really wasn't his fault.Juno( The almighty cow goddess, herself ) finally decided to give Jason all his memories back. Jason should have been thankful, right? Yeah, wrong. It wasn't exactly fun, no. In fact, it was pretty painful. His memories came back in the form of dreams. He woke up from his dream / memory with cold sweat running down the length of his face and down his back, his heart beating a million miles an hour and his temples throbbing like hell.
He realized that he loved Reyna and he couldn't be with Piper as long as Reyna was still around. Two weeks after his memories had started coming back, Jason knew what he had to do because now he remembered it all, he remembered his Reyna and he never wanted to forget for as long as he lived. They had never actually dated but they had, undeniably, loved each other and no one could deny it. He realized that everything he had with Piper could be nothing other than 'fake love'. What he had with Reyna couldn't ever be replaced and he needed her back, right now. That being the reason that Jason found himself catching up with Piper, who was on her way to the dining pavilion for lunch, to make his first step to getting Reyna back.
"Hey Pipes! I wanted to talk to you." said Jason.
"Sure. What's up Jason?" said Piper.
"I .. well...um.. it's just that.. you see I ..er ... " Jason couldn't form a coherent sentence. All his confidence seemed to be slipping from his hands, as though he was trying to hold on to water. He kept trying but he couldn't look Piper in the eye and say it. Especially not her mesmerizing, ever-changing, kaleidoscopic eyes.
Though, her eyes could never become the perfect onyx that Reyna's eyes are, Jason reflected. Jason shook himself from his thoughts (all of his thought these days seemed to end up on Reyna, one way or another) and tried, again, to tell Piper that he wanted to break up with her. Piper was looking at him as though she was looking inside his soul. In between Jason's stuttering and stammering, Piper said, "Jason... are you trying to break up with me?"
Piper's POV
Piper heard her own voice and even to her it sounded very faint, she even heard it shaking! She mentally shook her head at herself for being so weak. She should have seen this coming. She knew it was going to happen sooner or later. She could see very clearly that Jason wanted to break up with her, though she didn't know how. Maybe it was a daughter of Aphrodite thing but it was obvious to her that Jason didn't love her anymore. There was always this feeling she had in her gut when the person in front of her was in love. For the first time, though, Piper concentrated on this feeling and suddenly it was as though she could see through Jason. Not literally, but she saw a face, in his eyes, where there should have been Piper, reflected in there, she saw the face of Reyna. She understood that Jason. . . he had realized that he truly loves Reyna and not Piper. She sighed, seems like it was time for another talk with mother dear. . .
"It's fine. I get it. I'm fine. I guess I'll see you around then, bye." Said Piper and then she ran off because she didn't think that staying around here would do her any good. Besides she needed to go confront her mother as soon as possible. Maybe this time her mother would actually listen to what she had to say for once.
