Peter's P.O.V.

"Petey?"

I look at Wade, who's looking at me with pleading eyes. I blink a few times to get myself back to the crowded cafeteria we are in, having zoned out. I can't deal with the commotion in the cafeteria, so I stand up, grabbing Wade's hand. At first I don't think he understands what I am implying, but he stands up immediately, pulling me with him into the empty toilets.

Ned and MJ follow us after grabbing both mine and Wade's bags, and stand behind Wade as he chrouches before me. I went to sit on the floor as soon as we walked in, ignoring every warning in my head about sitting on the floor of a school toilet, and hid my head between my knees. I feel Wade's hand on my hands, which are wrapped around my knees, and I look up.

"Petey, are you okay babe?"

"Yeah" I sigh, and I immediately see a look that says 'yeah right' flash across face, but he hides it as quick as it appeared. "I just needed to get out of there. Too loud" Wade nods understanding, and MJ hands me a bottle of water, which I gladly take.

"Peter, you really need to do something about this" Ned says carefully "Where are your earbuds?"

Tony made those a few years ago, only 3 weeks after we met. He noticed that I got sensory overloads every time when rooms got too crowded, especially when I just became Spider-man. I wasn't adjusted to my super-hearing yet, and he made special earbuds for me, which make it easier to keep me calm. They dull the sounds around me, and usually keep me from getting sensory overloads.

The only problem is, I left them at the tower before I got, you know, dusted. And I haven't been to the tower after the battle, so I have had some sensory overloads in the past months. Wade has been by my side non-stop since the battle, even getting May to let him sleep at our apartment. He has helped me through every overload I've had, but I've forbidden him to go get them, because I don't want him to try and take me with him. I've been avoiding the tower at all costs, and I'd like to keep it that way.

"Tower"

Wade and MJ share a look, and my eyes widen. "Oh hell no"

"What?" Wade looks at me, laughing at my tone.

"I don't think so"

"Again, what?"

"None of you are going to pick them up. I don't want them" I start to panic slightly.

"You don't have to come with me babe, you know I wouldn't do that to you"

"I know" I sigh "but still"

"But still what? Babe, you can't keep getting sensory overloads only because you don't want something that he made for you" Wade argues

"You know what, I'll get them after school. Then you can test if you really don't want to use them any more, if not we'll find another solution. Okay?" I nod at MJ, right when the bell announces the end of lunch.

Groaning, both me and Wade stand up and take our bags from Ned and Mj, thanking them. They nod and we leave the toilets, into the crowded hallways. Wade senses my discomfort and grabs my hand, giving it a comforting squeeze. I give him a small smile before looking forward again, trying to escape the situation.

I just can't deal with large groups of people, and the entire school seems to stand in this hallway. We pass the board on the wall where people could leave messages 'in loving memory of Tony Stark', and I start to walk faster, glad that the crowd in front of it is covering the laughing picture of Tony.

What they don't know is the story behind that picture, or the fact that I took it. We were in the kitchen on the penthouse floor of the tower, trying to make homemade pasta. The only problem was, neither of us can cook.

I can't cook, and he couldn't cook.

Let's just say that the pizza we ordered afterwards tasted a lot better.

We reach our classroom, and I groan in frustration when I see that the words 'Gamma Radiation' are on the board. Bruce told me everything I have to know about that when he met me the for the first time.

I had walked into the lab, following Tony, who said he had someone special to introduce me to. He greeted Bruce, who was in the corner, and he had introduced me. I was standing partly behind him, not great with meeting new people, and I peeked over Tony's shoulder to look at the famous scientist in front of me. Bruce understood and told me laughing he isn't great with people either, and Tony, Bruce and I were in the lab past midnight, only leaving when we realised I had to be at school the next morning.

"Peter, Wade, are you going to sit down?"

I muttered an apology to our teacher, Mr. Harrison, and took Wade to our usual seats in the back of the classroom. Ned and MJ sit down in front of us, and Ned turns around to face us.

"So, you guys doing something special this weekend?"

"Nope" MJ answers having opened whatever book she's reading today.

"Don't think so, probably just help May out to thank her for letting me stay"

"She told you you don't have to do that" I chuckle.

"I know" Wade grins "But I enjoy helping her"

We shut up when Mr. Harrison starts with the lesson, and I don't listen to a word he's saying the entire time. I mostly just look at Wade while he's concentrating, the tip of his tongue slightly noticeable between his lips when he's taking notes. I'm so lucky he's mine

The time seems to have slowed down, making this lesson take forever to be over, and when the bell finally goes, I jump up to rush to my locker and go home as quickly as I can. The only problem is that Mr. Harrison won't let us go.

"Class, I need you all to stay behind for a few minutes. I have an important announcement to make"

I groan and sit back down, ignoring the uncomfortable feeling that my spidey-sense is telling me that something's wrong.
