Heart Of a Prankster
Chapter 4: Past, Present and Future
Imran’s P.O.V:
The whole day was boring without Aara. After having dinner with mom and dad, I went to my room. Mom and dad were discussing about some stuff. On my way to room, I kept thinking about Aara.
I felt something was off somewhere. I shouldn’t have acted all tough and all. I should have just accepted her apology. She had a frown on her face when I dropped her at Aunt Giselle’s house. Just as I passed her room, a thought popped up in my mind. Why didn’t I think of it before? Her journal……… it must be in her room. She must have written about her pranks. I went to her room and started searching for her journal. I was near her closet, when suddenly my phone buzzed in my pocket. How annoying……who was disturbing me on my secret mission? I was confused when I saw the caller id ‘Ziya’. It was half past ten. Why would she be calling me this late? I’m sure Aara must have done something.
“Hello Imran”
“Yeah Ziya. Wassup? How’s my baby sis doing?”
“Er….actually Aara’s not answering my call. Can you please try?”
“Not answering your call? Isn’t she with you and Aunt Giselle?” I was confused.
“Um….Aunt Giselle fell from her bed while we were asleep. She needed her medicines and we couldn’t find it. We started to panic. Then, Aara said that she would get the medicines from the nearest drug shop. She left at 9 and….and hasn’t returned till now. She called me after she got the medicines and said was on her way back. I wanted to tell her that I found the medicines but, something was off when she called me. She hung up the call soon. I thought she would return soon but…..I…I just don’t know. I’ve been trying to call her since then”
I couldn’t believe what Ziya was saying.
“Is this some sort of prank you guys are playing? Because if it is I’m not going to fall for it”
“Trust me Imran. I’m worried about Aara. Just let me know, if she answer’s your call, please”
“Okay”
Where could Aara be now? I’ve got to tell dad about this first.
“Imran” dad called me.
I hurried downstairs. Mom was crying. Dad handed me his car keys. Did they know about Aara already?
“Drive” he said and handed me a small note. Some address was scribbled on it. I was confused. I wanted to ask dad about it, but seeing his worried expression, I thought I’d ask him later.
“Okay dad” I grabbed my jacket and we left.
