Chapter 10: Drama Queen

Ziya’s p.o.v:

“I never thought a day would come like this in my life” Karen said.

“Me too” I said.

Aara was in the ICU. She was currently being operated. Azaan was being treated as well. The bullet was removed from his arm. The doctor’s put a cast around his arm and said it’ll take a few days to heal.

Inayat didn’t speak a word ever since we came to the hospital. He just sat with his head hung low at the far end of the corridor. Aara was dear to him. He treated her like his own sister. She was a best friend and a sister to him. Azaan had become a good friend of him lately. It was clear, he couldn’t take it well.

“How are you guys holding up?” I asked Adrian who looked exhausted pretty much like Kai.

“We are fine… just worried about Azaan and Aara. He’s still unconscious because of the sedatives. His parents are with him.” Adrian said.

“How can a person just shoot someone like that? Won’t their hands tremble? Don’t they have subconscious at all? “I asked Karen.

“Their hearts must be cold or they might not have heart at all” she said. Fury could be sensed from her tone. All of us were really mad at those…those freaks but now was not the time for that. The cops had arrested them, so we would deal will them later. Right now the only thing that mattered was our friends. ‘Allah, all I want is that my friends should get well soon.’

Suddenly, a nurse rushed out of the room.

“Excuse me, what’s happening in there? How’s my daughter?” uncle Zaman asked.

“She has lost a lot of blood and has difficulty in breathing right now. I need to get some medicines right now. Please, excuse me.”  The nurse said and then left to get the medicines. Aunty Sumaiya didn’t take this well. She cried even more. Uncle Zaman was tensed as well but he tried his best not to show it and comforted aunty.

Imran didn’t say a word. He just stood up and left the place.

“Imran wait-“

“Don’t stop him.” I stopped Adrian from following Imran. He needed some time alone.

“I’ll go check on him” Inayat said and left.

“But-“

“I said I’ll go.”

“Okay.”
