Chapter 11

We stayed in the tavern for only one more night and moved on. We went town to town bathing up people who would be willing to fight in the battle. Within the next few weeks we had gathered about 2,000 people both male and female willing to fight. We had towns of people. 3 days after we had set op camp on the opposite side of the mountain of the Hikapie. We are planning and strategizing in the main tent where I slept. I took us days but we finally had a decent idea of what to do. We where going to take Hikapie down in groups. They had packs set up in the shape of a diamond. They where set up behind the mountains in the north with a sizable army, to the west and east side of the mountains where two small armies which could be taken out relatively easily, and their massive army in the south, We are guessing that is where Nazar would be, and it may be a problem. They had at least 50,000 Hikapie with a interesting battle set up. they where shaped into a circle and on the on the outside where battle commanders all facing outward keeping watch and on the inside was there chief and smaller ranks where inside but there weapons where unknown to us. They didn’t look modern like guns in my world but they had some kind of magic. As far as we know Nazar had no magical abilities for himself. So someone, or something was helping him. The question was why, and how… Just then Caleb came to me. “The war is in 10 days… sure your ready?”

“Well ready as I’ll ever be. We can’t wait much longer.”

All of a sudden a unnamed guard came rushing in screaming in panic, bloodied, and out of breath,. He had a short red hair, with grey eyes like a storm. His look was intense, he had grime all over his face along with a light splatter of blood. He didn’t look very strong he seemed to be a farmer, he didn’t look any older then 15, then he spoke, “It’s so much worse then we could ever imagine….” He put his hands on his knees trying to catch his breath, panting. “I was scouting the barrier… and I heard some Hikapie guards talking. Nazar,” he paused catching his breath again, “isn’t the leader, is he only a pawn. He will probably die in the process of fighting all of us. This attack we plan, it is suppose to weaken us, take down our numbers, but its not the biggest fight we have to face. Zegrath, he is here in the valley.” The name crossed the room and the temperature seemed to drop by 50 degrees, however I didn’t know the name. The guard continued, “he isn’t a Hikapie. He is thought to be a God, he can’t be wounded and no one has ever defeated him. We can’t can’t win this war, we are walking to our deaths.”

That is when I realized that he was holding his side and blood was gushing out. “Oh my goodness! What happened to you?!”

“Those Hikapie got me… with a poison arrow… I will be dead soon….”

I tried to heal him but it had no effect, it must have some void against magic in the poison.

“Vandita! Poison arrow! Help!!!!”

Minutes later she came rushing in. By now the warrior was on the ground about to lose conciseness. He then weakly said in my ear, “ Don’t do it. You are leading them to there death.”

And then he was gone… Vandita could not help the poison was in too deep. One warrior gone, the war hadn’t even started, and I didn’t even know his name.
