Grabbing a kunai out of his weapon pouch, Naruto charged at the villager woman and yelled, "It's about time you guys stop getting away with this!"

Sakura watched in agony. Just as she was finally helping her teammates in battle instead of being dead weight... It didn't matter if they were just villagers; she was still brave enough to put up a fight. But of course, an inexperienced opponent just had wound her. She gave a broken smile to Sasuke, who had already restrained the villager he was fighting; indicating that she was sorry, but also happy to see Naruto was well. The two watched as the blonde fought proudly as his true self, in all his glory.

The woman wasn't even trained like he was, so even if he weren't at his best, Naruto could've easily won the battle. Leaving all of her weak spots open, the villager was too busy attempting to appear threatening as she held Sasuke's kunai knife. The Uzumaki lunged at her opening point but was blocked with the woman's kunai. Protecting himself by blocking the sharp weapon with his own kunai, Naruto used his free hand to grasp hold of the woman's weak arm. He twisted it and held his knife to her neck, and took her weapon out of her hands. Her body shaking in fear, appearing that she wanted to scream for her life; but she was choking on words as she felt that if she uttered a single word her throat would be pierced through at any second.

"Hey," the blonde whispered into her ear, "I can easily do it you know."

She winced, ready for her life to be taken away right before her eyes; yet instead the boy's grip on her loosened.

"Right here, right now. I can easily have my revenge," slight venom was in his voice, unnatural for Naruto to say the least. He slightly lowered the kunai and said, "but I'm not going to because I'm not the monster you think I am." He let her go and roughly pushed her to the ground.

"Well, looks like I got here just in time."

The three genin turned to see their masked sensei sitting in a tree, peering down on them.

"What are you saying? You missed the fight." Sasuke complained.

"Sensei!" Sakura greeted. She then hissed in pain and clutched her forearm, where a deep line of red was painted.

"Hold on, I've got a bandage for that." Kakashi said as he hopped down from the tree. He pulled a roll of what appeared to be some kind of gauze out of the satchel attached to his lower back. As he began to wrap it around the girl's arm, he confessed, "I'm sorry I didn't get here sooner. If you three weren't so experienced with unexpected attacks like these... I don't know what I would've done."

"How did you know, sensei?" Naruto questioned, apprehending and tying the village woman with some wire.

Smiling to himself a little underneath his navy mask, the man explained, "Well, when I was getting lost on the path of life, I just so happened to be near a few Anbu members who were visited by one of your fellow genin, Ino. She told us everything and turned in one of your opponents."

He had finished tending to Sakura's wound. She muttered a 'thanks' and tugged the bandage a little to make it more comfortable.

Kakashi instantly stood up happily and cheered, "Well! Shouldn't we escort our lovely guests to the Anbu?" Sakura grinned as her weird sensei grabbed the collars of the two villagers and dragged them away with ease.

Naruto smiled, knowing that things were going back to normal; well, almost normal. A head of raven hair appeared next to him and said, "I'm really proud of you, Naruto." Sasuke gave him a small grin. The boy he cared for most was maturing more than ever.

The blonde scratched his head and smirked, "Heh. Don't be. Just 'cause we're dating, doesn't mean we aren't rivals anymore!"

Sasuke grunted as he put his hands in his pockets, "Hn. Whatever, dobe. Just follow the rest of the team."

"Oh... okay."

Taking a few steps forward, the Uchiha stopped in his tracks and slightly turned his head, "Don't get on anyone else's bad sides, okay?" He reached his hand out, offering it to Naruto.

Staring at it for a few seconds, he gladly took it and teased, "Aww, was Sasuke-kun worried~?"

Pulling him a little aggressively, Sasuke snapped, "No, I wasn't!" He turned a different way from Naruto and growled, "Tch! Of course I was, you baka!"

The blue eyed boy smiled a little and muttered, "Someone cares..."

"Dobe... all of us care." The raven mumbled tugging the boy's arm forward.

With that, Team Seven reported the villagers' disgusting behaviour to the Anbu and gave them the punishment they deserved. They met Ino along the way, who was worried sick if they were all okay. She and Sakura shared a tight, heartfelt hug. After everything they had been through together, they were closer than ever before.

Bidding Ino goodbye, the four made their way out of the Hokage's building and sat outside on small wooden benches.

"That was... an experience." Sakura stated, finally properly comprehending what had happened.

"Yeah..." Naruto replied, hand clutching his stomach, as if to feel the beast himself. Sasuke slowly made his hand touch his to comfort him.

"Seeing as this all happened today, I guess we aren't completing our mission!" Kakashi grinned excitedly. Clearly wanting desperately to have a break. Sasuke could've sworn he saw flowers popping out of his head.

Giggling a little to herself, Sakura soon found herself breaking into a fit of laughter, and the rest of her team shortly joining in. Nothing like a little bit of laughter to ease your brain from all the horrific experiences you encountered in the last few days, huh?

They had the rest of day off, but the next was right back to another mission. Making the most of their time off, Team Seven was going to be busy again tomorrow...

Okaaay. Not gonna pull that one. My excuse this time was that there were a bunch of tests at school and I felt extremely stressed and tired. Clearly in no state to write fanfics!
