"Hey, have you seen it?" A mysterious voice whispered to another.

"Yeah, that boy... I saw him hang around at the Uchiha mansion." The other said.

"You mean with Sasuke, the last Uchiha?" A third voice gasped quietly, astonished.

"That's right. I swore I saw them at some point holding hands. Disgusting." The other spat with a hint of venom.

"He's turning poor Sasuke into a faggot? Probably brainwashing him so he gets a better reputation or something. Despicable"

"Hey, isn't that..." one of the women amongst the small group of villagers huddled together pointed to a certain pink headed girl walking in the streets, "... one of his teammates?"

The door to the Haruno house opened, revealing a pink haired girl dressed in a red T-shirt dress, equipped with many weapons. Sakura slowly closed the door behind her, appearing to be quite uneasy. Nevertheless, she was ready for her mission. The Haruno girl was already late, somewhat unwilling to go, but Kakashi-sensei was going to be later, right?

Sakura took her time, walking in a slow pace in the village as she blocked out noise; although she thought she heard whispering nearby. Continuing down the path, she was soon face to face with none other than Yamanaka Ino.

"So you're going on your mission after all?"

"Uhmm..." Sakura looked down at her feet, embarrassed, "... yeah."

Ino grinned, "You're stronger than I imagined!"

Sakura's sea foam orbs widened, pink locks blowing in the wind. Nobody had ever called her strong. In fact, she felt weak in every single way, and tried to cover it up with anger and sassiness.

"So what made you decide to go?" The platinum blonde haired girl asked as she walked beside her.

"Oh, uhm! I just... felt as if I didn't go today I wouldn't be able to go a long time. Not because I'm that sad or anything anymore, but more because of embarrassment. I was a total drama queen." She gave Ino a sad smile.

"Well, it was shock and realisation more the anything, right? I don't blame you though. If you actually thought you were in love with him. Of course you'd react that way." Ino explained, putting her hands on her hips.

Sakura turned away, looking rather tired. Her expression unreadable.

"Hey," a voice got her attention, "do you want to sit over there?" Ino pointed to a small wooden bench placed behind a store.

Sakura nodded her head in reply, as she was already late.

The two young girls sat themselves together on the bench and Ino broke the silence, "What time does your mission start anyway?"

"I'm already around ten minutes late but my sensei is at least an hour after us all the time so I'll just stick around with you for a while." She explained, tucking a lose strand of pink hair behind her ear.

"Woah, really? Mine always seem to start a few hours after yours."

Sakura tilted her head in curiosity, "Then why are you out so early?"

"Oh y'know, loitering around the village, buying a few things and sometimes making a few flower deliveries. Just errands like that." Ino answered, listing each thing with her fingers, "Anyway, what are you going to do when you get there? You know... about the situation...?"

The cherry blossom haired girl thought for a while before speaking, "I'm think I'm going to talk to them both about it and apologise. I wonder if I made them worry..."

The platinum blonde smiled, "Baka! Of course you made them worried! I think what you're planning to do is a goo-" her voice trailed off as large figures looked down on them, blocking the sun.

A man who was the book seller on the block faced Sakura and asked, "Are you in his teammate?"

"I-if you're talking about Uchiha Sasuke, then yes, I am in his team." Sakura answered nervously.

"If you are in the same team as Uchiha Sasuke then you must be in the same team as him."

"A-a-are you talking about the other genin or my s-sensei...?" She stuttered.

The woman, the book seller's wife sighed and folded her arms matter-of-factly, "We are talking about Uzumaki Naruto."

"Naruto...?"

"That's right. We were just wondering... what is it like to be on the same ninja team as him?" Her voice softened, as if she were concerned for the girl.

"Well, uh-"

She was interrupted by a different man who was beside the other two villagers. He was the one selling wooden antiques at a stall nearby, "Do you find him annoying? Useless? Dangerous? Do you feel unsafe or uncomfortable around him? Does he radiate an evil aura off of him??"

Extremely confused, a pang of guilt hit Sakura like a truck. She felt horrible for all those things she said and did to Naruto, and he still was so nice to her! She had no idea how much hate the Uzumaki was already getting from these kinds of villagers.

The village woman suddenly hugged her, "Oh, you poor girl... having to cope with that demon!"

The pinkette immediately pushed her away, making the woman fall to the ground, "Demon?!" She yelled, voice full of confusion and anger.

"Oh. More of them that don't know..." the other village man stated, scratching the back of his neck, "Tell me, does your friend know?"

Sakura glanced at Ino, and the blonde glanced back and shook her head.

"Well, the truth is-"

"I don't wish to hear random villagers I don't know approach me and suddenly trash talk my teammate." Sakura boldly announced, "Now if you'll excuse me, we must get going." She muttered.

She began to walk away, Ino quietly following behind. That is, until the same villager grasped hold of her arm, "Wait! Stay! Where is he?"

"Why do you want to know??" She retorted, tugging her arm away.

"That demon brat has been alive for far too long! Thanks to the Hokage, it was almost impossible to dispose of him, but with no current Hokage, we can finally get rid of him!"

"Don't you see? That boy has caused us so much trouble and a danger to the village! You're about to go on a mission with him, right? Lead the way and take us to him to help us save the village!" The book seller's wife begged.

"No way! Just let... go!" Sakura gritted her teeth as she tried to pull away. Just as she was about to free herself, the man holding her arm was assisted with the other two villagers in keeping the girl captured.

"Your so called teammate isn't even human, " the book seller whispered into her ear, "he's the-"

"LET GO OF HER!" Ino suddenly screeched.

"Never! Not until she tells us where that demon brat is!" The shopkeeper man yelled.

The Yamanaka suddenly performed her clan's famous hand sign and screamed, "MIND TRANSFER JUSTU!"
