Marinette had very little time to get the centerpiece of her fashion collection finish. She had ran into a problem it was evident by the expression she was making. "What's wrong?" Luka asked as she fiddled with the end of his trousers.
"The pants aren't fitting you quite right and I don't have time to make new ones." She replied thinking that maybe she could use the same material that she used to line the jacket to add on. The pants wouldn't be quality, they would look like she ran out of material even know that was true, Gabriel expected professional work. "I could roll them since exposing ankles are in style now." Marinette added as she rolled the hem of each pant leg.
"Am I that much taller then Adrien?" Luka asked. He thought about talking Adrien into doing this one last runway to ease the stress off of Marinette. However, he knew that wasn't fair to Adrien. Luka didn't hate or dislike Adrien or ChatNoir for falling for Marinette. Who could blame any of them? She was the perfect woman.
"What's with men and comparing sizes?" Marinette said embarrassing herself the moment she said it. Luka laughed at her comment. "You're a funny woman, Marinette Dupain-Cheng."
Marinette rolled her eyes as she carefully tacked down the hems hoping they would stay together long enough until she transferred over to her brother sew machine. "I don't know if I told you this but the oddest thing happened in the grocery store when I went with the boys." Marinette said trying to change the subject.
Luka thought about how Emma said something about her hugging the kid she calls Chalkboy but nothing concerning after all Emma didn't care for boys in that particular way. "What happened?" Luka asked.
"I may be overthinking but Gabriel had called me and asked for Emma's shoe size. I thought nothing of it until this whole fight between Gabriel and Adrien. What if it is all connected?" Marinette's conclusions were correct. They were connected like pieces of a puzzle.
"What if he is simply making her a dress for the upcoming fashion show and wants to make sure Emma is dressed according to the theme? Didn't he make a dress for you to wear? However, knowing the type of man Gabriel is, he has to have something up his sleeve."
"All the years I've known him, I've never seen him do something nice just because he felt like it." Marinette said as she rolled the sleeves of the jacket to match the pant legs exposing the satin redlining. She used her tablet to create a version of the outfit that incorporated the rolled arm and pant hems. She thought that it would be a cute idea to subtly add a necklace that looked similar to the present that her Kwami had hacked up.
She kept pictures of the fabric she used in the top right corner of the page as a reference. "I think I'll dye my ends red." Luka added as he peered over Marinette's shoulder after he took off his jacket. "Since, it's for Ladybug. " he added. Luka had never had his hair ends dyed any other color but seafoam green. It was his favorite color, he saw no need to change it until now.
"You will it for her but not for me?" Marinette teased. She changed Luka's hair ends from seafoam green to red in the sketch on her tablet. "Doesn't look too bad now does it?" Marinette said as she showed Luka who was taking extra precautions not to undo Marinette's tack down stitches.
"Do you need help?" Marinette laughed. A snake could take off pants faster than him and snakes don't have arms.
"I don't want to ruin your hard work. You already have enough to do. I don't want to burden you with redoing this a third time."
"I don't deserve you." She said thinking about how sweet Luka was yet couldn't help to think about how her few times with Adrien made her feel guilty. As if she cheated on Luka in some way or form.
"No Marinette, I don't deserve you." Sure, she wasn't perfect since everyone has their flaws but she perfectly imperfect according to Luka.
"Can we not have a heart to heart when you're pantless? It's really hard to concentrate. Not that I'm telling you to quickly put that back on. It's just that you're a distraction. A really really good distraction. I'm rambling aren't I?"
Marinette was distracted by Luka that was obvious. However, she was distracted by one particular part in general. Luka didn't wear underwear when he wore skinny because if he did his underwear line would be seen. Both Marinette and Luka have seen each other naked before and nothing become of it but Alya's comment about how Marinette should have sex was rattling around in the back of her head until this moment.
"Something wrong?" he asked Marinette as he swapped out the trousers for his faded skinny jeans.
"Alya said we should have sex." Marinette blurted out knowing that Luka wanted to wait because he was a man that followed the old tradition of sex after marriage. Maybe she's tried of waiting and that's why she went after Adrien? And why she went after ChatNoir all those years ago? Because if she wanted ChatNoir to truly stop all she had to do was push him off. She had the strength she was a superhero after all. "She's not wrong. I don't think sex makes a relationship but I am a person that wants to have sex. I know we've had a conversation like this in the past and you've always said you're a traditional man. But it's been ten years. Be honest Luka, do you want to have sex with me?" she asked knowing this could make or break their relationship.
Luka finished putting his pants on before touching on the subject at hand. He thought about how her timing couldn't be more off. "Of course I do. I love you and that's why I feel bad about lying to you all these years and saying that I'm traditional when I'm not. I've tried many times and each time you filched at my touch and so I stopped because I don't want you to be uncomfortable. Maybe, you don't want to be intimate with me and that's okay. If you would prefer to be with someone else then I won't stop you. However, if you do want to be with me don't listen to other people's comments about sex. They don't know what you've been through and who put you through it. You can take all the time you need."
"I don't know who I want." She said meaning to say "I don't know what I want." instead.
"Once you figure who you want promise me you'll never let him go. You both deserve to be happy." Luka said thinking that she was going to choose Adrien over him since Marinette did confess that she went over to Adrien's apartment and was interrupted by an akuma attack. Luka knows he should fight for her but sometimes it's in the fighter's best interest to forfeit if he knows he'll lose in the end. Now it was Marinette choice whether she wanted to fight for Luka.
"I want to be happy with you. I always have. Yes, Adrien was my first love, ChatNoir was my first kiss, ChatNoir was the first person that I was intimate with, but I want you to be my last. Luka Couffaine will you marry me?"
"Hell, yes." Luka said before he kissed her. This wasn't the proposal that either of them had in mind but it worked out for better or worse.
"You know I was the one that was supposed to ask if you wanted to marry me." He said as he grabbed the pink ring out of his jacket that he had bought for her.
"And you said you weren't traditional so I thought I should take the initiative." She said as she watched Luka slip the ring onto her finger.
"I'm glad you did. It seemed the universe was against me proposing to you."
