Harith was scared. The feeling felt odd, for he was never one to cower, yet how could he not? This plan could easily backfire as it could succeed. He gave a silent nod to Harley, who was frowning, yet his emerald eyes held determination. He smiled the minute Harley had his back turned. He really missed that spark. Harley was a fire, one that didn't seem to be able to be put out. His death dimmed the light but now it seemed to be back at full force. And Harith was glad, for he couldn't stand that emptiness the mage's eyes seemed to convey ever since that dreaded incident.

It's been a few months since Harith and Harley started planning their escape, for the latter had to regain his strength. He still couldn't speak, yet at least now he didn't seem so tired all the time. Unfortunately, those few months had also let Vexana regain hers and now she didn't need to rely on her companions that much. She could put up a fight, which they were hoping to avoid, hence the time they're plan was going to be in motion.

Vexana was sleeping soundly, and Harith hated how normal she looked. This woman has caused so much pain, so much agony that normal shouldn't be a word used to describe her.

He felt a small hand grasp his, and he tightened his grip.

It's now or never.

The two made sure they were a good distance from where the Necromancer slept, before sprinting away. The sound of their feet tapping against the cold earth sent shivers down Harith's spine. His breaths were coming out in puffs but he couldn't stop. At this point, he didn't know if it was adrenaline or the need to get away that was keeping him from halting.

He could feel himself being pulled down as Harley dropped to his knees, shivering. Harith wrapped his arms around the mage, rubbing his back soothingly. "We did it." He found himself saying as his dark brown eyes met green. Harley smiled weakly, before leaning his head on the elder's shoulder. Harith felt Harley nod his head before his body sagged from exhaustion.

You'll be okay, Harley. We'll be okay.

As if on cue, rustling was heard from the bushes. The mage in his arms didn't flinch for their recent actions has left him quite fatigued. Harith, on the other hand, wrapped his arms around Harley protectively.

A pink head emerged and out came a Dark Elf. Behind her was a floating abyssal demon, drool leaking from its mouth. Whoever this was, she seemed to have come from the abyss.

Harith immediately was on guard. He couldn't help but not trust this elf for not only are Dark Elves known to be experienced in dark magic, this girl seemed to also bear the aura of death.

"Hello." She said, her tone friendly. Not a sound escaped Harith's throat.

The witch seemed to disregard his silence as she continued. "I'm Selena."

Harith's eyes widened slightly. Why does that name sound so familiar?

And then, it hit him. Karina. This was her sister. The one who was thrown into the abyss. The one who's supposed to be dead.

"Harith." He said, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

Selena clapped her hands as she giggled. "How about we become friends? I can see us getting along quite well!" Harith looked at her uneasily, then his gaze shifted to Harley.

"Don't worry, I bet Harley and I would get along well too!" Harith could feel his instincts acting up. His gut kept telling him to run, and he did, the frantic screaming and yelling of the Abyssal Witch falling on deaf ears.

How did she know Harley's name? This was the first time they met, and he has never told her anything about the mage in his arms.

Selena looked at them worriedly, this time of her own accord. She then collapsed as she was left in pain unlike before. Her stomach felt as if it was ripped open. It felt like someone took out her insides and were trying to flip them out. It hurt so, so bad and she wished it would stop. And it did, but the assassin was already long gone when it happened.

"Useless," The mage muttered angrily as she stared at the body by her feet. She kicked it away, disgusted. "I will get my puppet back. Mark my words, Leonin."
