16 | like honey

sweet.

i had a long night. it had gotten more harder to sleep, because of him.

whilst i was busy spacing out, i wasn't able to notice that he was standing in front of me.

"you're here," jungwoo said, showing the sweet smile of his.

i wasn't able to respond quickly, as i was busy examining his features. well i wish my stare doesn't look that obvious

"excuse me, your boyfriend is here," he waved his hands in front of me.

a hello was the only thing that i muttered before turning my back from him. why am i getting embarrassed now?!

"are you not happy to see me?" he said, even if my back is facing him, i could tell that he's pouting right now.

"dummy, i am, it's just that-" before i was able to finish my sentence, he pulled me in a very warm hug.

we stayed like that for a good while. his scent is so delectable and welcoming. the scent that was drawing me deeper to him. i wouldn't want to let go at this point. gosh-

after a couple of minutes, he slowly pulled away and looked at me. "where should we go today?" he asked excitedly.

"i don't know," i shrugged my shoulders.

he paused and looked like he was thinking. "i think i know now," he said, smiling.

"where are we going?" i asked.

"it's a secret. i want to surprise you," jungwoo answered while looking at me as he clasped his hand on mine. the latter smiled again. damn, he's so cute!

"alright, if you say so." i replied, walking along with him. trying to stop from stealing glances at his face.

why should i steal glances when i could look at him directly?

it didn't took long for us to reach the bus stop. we stood there and waited. im feeling kinda awkward being alone with him because of what happened-i should just stop.

"eunbi, i think im melting" jungwoo said, covering his face.

"are you expecting me to believe that?" i replied jokingly.

"can you please just play along and tell me why?" he said in a cute manner.

"jungwoo-fine, why are you melting?" i asked.

"because you kept on looking at me a while ago, it makes me want to think that im that handsome," the cutie machine went off.

"ya! i wasn't looking at you! i was looking at something else," i defended myself.

i didn't knew his eyesight was that good

"you know what? you're so cute whenever you're flustered," jungwoo said, smiling widely.

i hide myself with my palm from the embarrassment. i know im getting red right now and it's not good.

"mam, you're blocking the view," jungwoo said as he slowly intertwine his hand with mine, putting it on his coat.

kim jungwoo when did you got so good in making a woman's heart race?

"oh? the bus is here! let's go!" he said energetically, carefully supporting my back as i stand up, looking like he was pushing me. (please try to picture it out)

we took our seats and the bus started running. i didn't even realise that i was dozing off after having him tease me during the ride. i woke up right after jungwoo pushed the button to make the bus stop.

i hastily rose up on my seat, rubbing my eyes, revealing a great view from the sea as soon as we got off.

"wow, the sea is so pretty!" i exclaimed in excitement as i ran towards the entrance.

"eun! wait for me!" jungwoo shouted, trying to catch up.

it's my turn to get back at him for teasing me. "im not waiting for you! run a bit faster!"

as soon as i found a good spot to dip my feet, i hurriedly took off my shoes and socks, rolling my pants below my knee to avoid it from getting wet.

i turned my head to the back to see jungwoo getting nearer. i rushed to the shore, finally meeting the small waves splashing on my feet.

jungwoo was just a few steps away from me, in resort i acted like im about to run in the opposite direction to destruct him for a second.

i don't know what has gotten into me but i felt like i become a runner in an instant. i just ended bursting into laughter whenever one of us slips on the sand, making my knees grow weaker as i laugh.

i was running slower than the usual. when i turned my back, jungwoo was already behind me. he suddenly attacks, trapping me completely into his arms.

"i surrender! now can you please let me go?" i said between my breaths.

my heart couldn't stay still, it's doing that thing again

"i don't want to. let's stay like this for a while, please" he said as he rested his head on my shoulder.

"but we'll get wet! the high tide is coming soon-" i got cut off because he hugged me even tighter.

i slowly walked back to my shoes, jungwoo wasn't even letting go, and i don't intend on removing it either.

"do you know why i choose this place for us to go on our first date?" he spoke, facing me.

"hmm, i have no idea but i actually wanted to visit the sea some of these days" i replied. "why do you choose to bring me here then?"

"back then, you told me that you wanted to watch the sunset with the person you love" jungwoo said, making me flabbergasted.

"you remembered that?" i can't help but cover my mouth in surprise.

"yeah, it's all thanks to my old self who used to write journal entries diligently." he replied.

"the sun is almost setting, let's go over there, we'll get to see the view better." jungwoo added, leading the way.

we strolled for a bit and found a picnic mat that was set up. we sat there and talked about random things.

"when did you have time to prepare all of these?" i said to him, not being able to hide the astonishment.

"guess! it was probably when you were running around," he said, trailing off his words.

"im very touched, you know, im really lucky to have you in my life" i replied.
"of course-look! there's a seagull!" jungwoo said, pointing towards the sky.

i turned to look at it but there was nothing, that was when i realized that he placed a peck on my cheeks. the later started to run away.

"ya! kim jungwoo, you're not getting away with this!" i shouted and started chasing him.
