Jessica's mother stayed with her the first couple of weeks, but Jessica wanted to do this on her own.
Once Dorothy left, sure it was hard, but Jessica loved every moment of it.

"Mommyyyyy!"
"Hi baby! How was school?"
"Good! I have a new best friend! Her name is Natalie!"
"Oooh! Little Nick has a girlfriend!" Jessica teases him.
"NO! Mommy, she's just my friend!"
"Ooh I'm so sorry!"
"Momma, look out!" Nicholas shouts.
Jessica gasps. "Oh shoot!" She quickly stops her car and gets out.
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!"
"No worries. It was my fault!"
"Mommy, that's Natalie's Daddy! I'm so embarrassed!" Nicholas shouts and covers his face.
"Sorry, honey! Look umm.."
"Danny! Danny Huston." He smiles.
"Danny! I am so sorry! I promise I'll pay for the damage!"
"She doesn't have a mommy and now you hit her car!" Jessica hears Nicholas' little voice coming from the car.
"Is that Nick?"
"Yes, it is! He's a loud one." Jessica chuckles nervously.
"My Natalie has told me a lot about him!"
"Aw really?"
"Yeah! Hey look, why don't we forget about this and go get lunch?"
"Lunch?" Jessica chuckles.
"Yeah! I mean you hit a car, you work up a big appetite, right?"
"I guess so!" She laughs. "Sure, lunch sounds great!"

"So yeah.. he doesn't have a father but.. our life is great! He's all I've ever wanted.. and I'm very proud I've done this all myself." Jessica said to Danny with a smile as the children run around, playing together.
"That's really sweet! Wow.. you are an incredible mother. That's a very very strong thing to do. Hats off to you, Jessica."
"Aw, thank you!
"Now with Natalie.. she's never known her mother. She left right after she was born."
"Aw that's heartbreaking. I don't understand how a parent could do that. Especially a mother!"
Danny sighs. "Oh I know! I can't imagine my life without my baby girl."
"She's very lucky to have you, Danny." Jessica reached across the table and placed her hand on his.
"Thank you! And Nick is very lucky to have such an incredible mother like yourself."
"Aw.. that's.. that's very sweet!" Jessica smiles.

"Kids! Dinner is ready!"
"Thank you, mom!" Nicholas hugs his mother.
"Yes! Thanks, mommy!" Natalie hugs her as well.
