the next day, jenna texts josh multiple times as she's frustrated with him. tyler has not left his bed ever since jenna came over which means he also hasn't checked his phone.

the small brunette was feeling very overwhelmed that day getting home from church and just blanked out, staring at the lavender wall that his bed is shoved beside. the color of his walls usually make him happy, since his parents weren't that fond of it but were too cheap to pay someone to repaint, he is allowed to keep it. however, in this situation on the fourth day of staring at the wall has only small bites of the food his mom brings and half a bottle of water in his stomach; the wall doesn't do anything for him, not even a small smile.

"hey, bub." jenna says from the doorway, not expecting an answer.

she doesn't get an answer just deafening silence and the small breaths of tyler. the blonde frowns to held before walking over to the bed and sitting down, placing her hand on his which is holding his grey covers.

surprisingly, the small boy tangled their fingers together for comfort and keeps his gaze on the wall. an emotionless expression is portrayed on his face, as jenna boils with anger about joshua's absence.

"i don't know where josh is."

tyler seems to be hurt. it's in the air, some aura that jenna can feel radiating off of him as he closes his eyes and breaking the eye contact of the wall. as the blonde is running her thumb soothingly over tyler's hand, her phone dings abrubtly with jenna idioms her free hand to read what's happened.

brendon; please don't hate josh.

jenna; i think i have the right to hate him currently, without any information of his where abouts is.

brendon; can we talk somewhere? in person?

jenna thinks it herself for a moment before speaking up and saying,

"i'm gonna go try and figure out where josh is, bub. hopefully i'll come back here with him soon."

"that is if he isn't bruised from me bashing his face in." she mumbles after, mostly to herself but tyler hears with no emotional reaction.

jenna; meet me at the 50's diner in fifteen minutes.

-

"start explaining." jenna says, as she pulls out a chair and sits in front of brendon at the diner.

the raven haired nods before swallowing a fry from a basket they both decided to share.

"he's been on vacation with his family. in tokyo. they sprung it on him last minute, so he didn't have time to tell tyler."

"how do you know then?" jenna asks, her eyes narrowed at the boy in front of her.

"i live with him. so, i saw him with a suitcase and asked where he was going. he told me right when he went out the door, because he was in a rush since they just called him that night. i didn't tell you guys because i thought you knew."

jenna still looked skeptical. this could all be a cover story and josh is actually cheating on tyler or something worse. however, josh doesn't seem like the type of person to do that, so she listens when brendon speaks up again.

"look i know this looks shady, because you're probably saying, 'well, why didn't he just call tyler when he got there?'" jenna nods waiting for the answer.

"he got there on the second day, since his parents called him late and he's been going and going all day, everyday. i promise, i has nothing to do with tyler. josh just cannot time manage well. he'll be back friday, is what he told me."

the blonde believes him. it's the only explanation that she has and she wants to believe it. with a fry in hand, jenna eats it and says,

"if you're lying, i will break your face."

"i'm not and i'm sorry i didn't tell you. how is tyler?" jenna scoffs lightly and looks at the raven. her face softens, since she feels she being a bit harsh.

"he hasn't moved in four days and barely eaten. his mom said he's only left his bed to go to the bathroom."

"what happened?" brendon asks, stuffing another fry in his face.

"he went to church and of course they talked about people being gay is bad. so, when he got home, he called me and was crying. i think all the 'sermons' and anxiety is getting to him, so he kinda just shut down. he needs josh, brendon."

the raven haired nods sympathetically, running his hand through his hair with his face feeling hot. he didn't mean to inconvenience either of them and he knew josh wouldn't either.

"i called josh but someone else picked up and yelled, 'stop fucking calling.'" brendon thinks on this for a moment, pressing his palms against his forehead.

"it's was most likely his brother, jordan. he's a bit immature (just in the fic, don't come for me.) and probably didn't know the number."

jenna nods once again before standing up and bedding farewell to brendon, paying her half for the fries. brendon sighs to himself, pressing his palms against his forehead again to cool himself down.

-

"he's not coming back for two more days, bub." jenna says, frowning at tyler's seemingly frozen state.

she's got him to sit up, but he's only looking down at his lap with josh's enormous hoodie engulfing him. the brunette nods softly and sniffles, just wanting josh to be back.

"i'll be back tomorrow to check up on you, okay?" tyler nods again, twiddling with the sleeve of the baby blue hoodie.

"if you sees 'im, twell him i miss him." jenna nods, watching the boy hold back tears.

"i will, bub."
