Tuesday morning was here. Ahsan had again taken an off and we proceeded to the clinic for the echo. There wasnt a line here but yet we had to wait as the doctor who would be taking Ainars echo was on a conference call. I was so edgy the entire time. Ahsan held my hand and did not let until the Secretary asked us to enter, and we were greeted with a very friendly smile.
The doctor asked us to take our seats while she explained to us about heart conditions so that we could be aware of it before she does the procedure. She gave us some hope that incase there is something it can be handled in shaa Allah.Ahsan placed Ainar on the bed, and we opened her top. The Doctor concentrated when doing the echo clicking away a few pictures on the monitor and humming to herself. After she finished, she cleaned Ainar and made us sit.
"Mr and Mrs Ahsan, am afraid i have some bad news." We couldnt speak so we let her continue.
"Ainar is having a severe congenital heart condition. This means that she has a hole in her heart, but in Ainars condition she has 2 holes and they are big which needs surgery. Her oxygenated and deoxygenated bloods are getting mixed which in turn is pressuring her heart and lungs.
The holes are taking up more then half her heart space,so the surgery needs to take place within 3 months maximum otherwise the consequences will not be good. She also needs to weigh well otherwise the surgery cant happen. And i personally would suggest you to take her to india, specifically chennai for the surgery. I know a brilliant doctor there who i can communicate to and in shaa Allah then we can communicate and take it up from there."
Ahsan and I stood up and were lost of words totally, we both had tears in our eyes but did not show each other and quietly walked out of the clinic to the car to head home.
