We were allowed into the ICU, waiting lounge where we were given the gowns and masks and slippers to wear. We were not allpwed to go in without wearing the proper gear no matter how urgent it was.
Our first sight on our baby girl, brought us down to tears. She was covered in pipes and the oxygen mask and laying totally lifeless. I Couldnt look at her at all, Ahsan held onto me before i could collapse."Love, be strong. She needs us to be strong for her. If you break down infront of her, who will handle her? Remember soon in two days she will in shaa Allah wake up and you need to feed her. If you break down like this how will it be possible? Please my darling be strong."
"In shaa Allah,"
was all i could manage to say. I composed myself and smiled towards my baby. We did soft and small talk with her so she could feel our presence and walked out of the ICU.
Once we got to the room, i did my wudhu and prayed. Prayed and cried my eyes out to my Allah for my baby girl. Ahsan even though wouldnt show it but i knew that he was also crying to Allah.
"Ya Allah, bless our daughter with a long healthy life. End all her sufferings. She is your amanat to us, please bless her in every way possible. Ameen." I criedAfter seeing her for half an hour which was so not enough we could only wait for the best day where we.cpuld see her again for another half hour. Time would go slow bit we had to endure and have patience.
The next day when we went she was still under the influence of the medication. Ahsan asked the doctor if she woke up and how is her progress.
"Al hamdulilah she is a fighter, she is doing well. We managed to reduce a little bit of the external oxygen from her, but no we have not woken her up. We shall Inform you tomorrow when we wake her up."After which we stayed with Princess Ainar for the half hour, where we told her, her brothers stories and what he said when we called him to tell him about her surgery and how he wishes we could go back soon as he is missing us a lot and is even promising he will be a good boy if we allow him to come to the hospital.
Obviously she wouldn't respond but it called us down knowing she was Al hamdulilah improving. On the 3rd day of her surgery, the doctor came in the early morning and told us that they will be waking our princess up for a while and he wants us to be next to our angel so by 8 we should be near the ICU.
At 8 sharp, we were at the ICU, and they woke our princess. She held my finger so tight like her life depended on it. I held one hand while Ahsan held her other hand. And then we hugged her slowly as she was still covered with pipes, and her mask was still on but her saturations were al hamdulilah improving."Mrs. Ahsan, we would like you to try and feed Ainar. But please do not force her. If she doesn't, you dont have to worry. She isnt strong yet." Dr. Farhan told me
I said Bismillah and carried my princess slowly from the nurse taking care that the pipes dont hurt her. Instead of the mask they made her wear the tube. Al hamdulilah my baby managed to feed a little which according to the doctor was a great achievement.
After that Al hamdulilah every day was a day that showed improvement in our baby girl. Atlast she was out of the external oxygen and was able to breathe on her own. On the 7th day of her surgery, we were bestowed with good news Al hamdulilah. Our princess was able to move out of the ICU.
We couldnt thank Allah enough for the blessing He gave us. We made lots and lots of shukr (thanx) to Him.
Al hamdulilah.
