Scene 5 : Intuitions

Kartik and Kairav were about to leave when Vansh and Gayu entered Singhania Sadan.

Vansh was excited to meet Kairav but he was surprised to see his Big Bro Kartik here. "Big Bro" He excitedly ran to Kartik. "You said you were going for business, but when did you come here?' He asked.

Gayu was also surprised to find Kartik in Singhania's. "When did you come back from Delhi?" She asked.

Kartik took Kairav as well as Vansh in his arms and replied, "I landed here few hours back, and came directly to Kairav. What about you guys? Why are you here? All ok at home?"

Gayu, "I brought Vansh to play with Kairav, since you and Naira, both weren't here, I brought Vansh here frequently. And everything is ok at home but Dadi will be upset, if she gets to know, that you didn't come back home as soon as you landed."

Kartik knew Dadi will be upset but meeting Kairav was the first thought in his mind as soon as he landed in Udaipur, he would have gone home or taken Kairav to Goenka Villa, but he also knew that it was useless explaining himself to Dadi, "If Dadi will be upset, don't let her know then." He responded Gayu.

"Are you guys going somewhere?" Gayu asked, noticing that Kairav was all ready for an outing.

"Haan maasi, we're going to park and then we'll have ice creams. You and Vansh should come to. We all, will go!" Kairav said excitedly. Vansh clapped along.

Gayu looked at Kartik, she knew he wanted his lone time with Kairav. She excused, "I have some work, Kairav. How about you go with your Papa for now and I will bring Vansh along with me later."

As much as Kartik wanted to be with Kairav, he adored Vansh too. He let Kairav and Vansh down from his arms and asked them to let their grandmothers know that they are going out. Vansh and Kairav ran inside "Nani/Dadi....."

Kartik turned back to Gayu. "I can take Vansh with me. But, what work do you have?" He asked Gayu.

"Bhai called from his office, he forgot some files and his phone here, at home. So I was about to go to him. You guys can leave, I will bring Vansh later." Gayu replied.

"No, I can take Vansh with me. Or if you want you can come along. We can drop the files and phone at Naksh's office and go to park from there."

Vansh and Kairav, along with their grandmothers came to where Kartik and Gayu were. "Badi Nani..." Gayu went to her grandmother, while taking blessing and  hugging her. They were meeting and greeting each other, when Devyani came with files and Naksh's phone.

"Gayu. Naksh called. This is the file and phone he was asking for." She said while giving it to Gayu and continued, "Gayu, also, I was just checking Naksh's phone, please check his phone, there are too many missed calls, I couldn't receive earlier, but it seems it's urgent."

"Big bro, when will we go"
"Papa, when will we go"
Vansh and Kairav both brought attention back to themselves.

"We will leave now." Kartik took blessings from the elders "Dadi, we're going to park for now, and I will bring Kairav by evening."
He informed and turned to Gayu for her response.

"I will give these things to Bhai and be back here, at home, you guys go." She said to Kartik, Kairav and Vansh.

"Bye bye" Vansh and Kairav voiced along.
Kartik, Kairav and Vansh, were leaving for their outing, when Naksh's phone rang again.

Gayu: "This is the same number. I will receive this call. Bye Vansh. Bye Kairav".

Kairav and Vansh dashed towards the car with Kartik following them.

"..... Goa???" He heard Gayu's shaky voice distantly.

Kartik stopped midway.

He was having a sense of foreboding since long. His intuitions were making him restless. Kairav was immensely sad like a dejected soul before Kartik came and Kartik was restless since few days. Even now, but he reasoned it with Kairav. He missed Kairav. And then coming back to Singhania Sadan after years got him sensitive and emotional today. Since Naira and Kairav shifted to Singhania's, Naira always used to bring Kairav to Goenka's or to his office or wherever they decided to meet up with Kairav. He never came to Singhania Sadan. But today as soon as he landed in Udaipur, he rushed to Singhania's to meet Kairav. He reasoned himself again, that this place was all that got him emo. But.

Naksh's phone. Goa. Gayu's tone. Naira?
Something crawled up his heart. His feet curled up to curb the hollow feelings that was hitting him.

"Papa/Big Bro. Come fast" He heard Kairav and Vansh calling for him. He breathed out and in. He sighed while suppressing whatever intuitive distant thoughts that were ready to hit him. He tried to get his thoughts straight and concerned with Kairav's thought only.

He went to the car, the kids were already in. And they left.

At Singhania House~

"Naira? Yes. She is my sister." Gayu answered the phone call.

"Who are you? Where are you calling from?"

"......Goa?!"

"Right, this is her brother's number, Naksh Singhania. But he isn't available at the moment but you can tell me. What happened?" Gayu's voice trembled.

Looking at Gayu's pale face, Devyani and Kaveri stood aghast, while they hear the one sided phone conversation. Gayu, looked up to her grandmothers, they didn't need the vocal confirmation, they have sensed it, something terrible has happened to their granddaughter, Naira, yet again. The tears welled up, while they wait for Gayu to complete the phone call. They stood in silence, as they were too afraid to ask Gayu, as to what exactly happened.

"Where is she now?" Gayu responding back to the phone call.

"Ok." She gulped. Gathering herself, she had no time to feel weak. She took a deep breath and, "we will be there as soon as possible. Can you please repeat the name of the hospital and address"

She jotted down the details.

"We will wire the money bills right now, and we will be there as soon as possible." Gayu ended the call, feeling everything but nothing. She wanted to complain, yell and cry out loud, but no matter what, the reality won't change. She gathered herself up.

"What happened to Naira?" Devyani found her voice. Everyone were fearing what's next in store for them, but right now, was not the time to let their fear overcome them.

"Nani..." She took a deep breath and continued, "Heart attack." Her eyes welled up. "She is safe but she is still in ICU. She was brought as emergency two days ago, she woke up today, and the hospital just got to know her identity and got Bhai's number"

"Why? Why her?" complained Kaveri.
There was sullen silence, when Gayu got up. "I need to tell Bhai, I will leave for office."

"And Gayu, Kartik? Kartik ko..." Devyani asked.

"Nahi. No Nani. Abhi Nahi. Kairav is with him. Vansh is also them. Let them come back. But first, I have to inform Bhai." Gayu replied. She was leaving, when she turned back to her grandmothers, "Don't worry Nani, badi Nani. Naira is in hospital, under care. She'll be fine." Gayu hugged them, trying to console them as well as herself."She's really strong. She will get back. We will bring her back."

Not long ago, have they got Naira back in their lives. They had their shares of complaints of her, but they were not ready to lose her again.
