Chapter 15 - Flames

I sit with Isaac for two hours and we hear my mum leave the house, so we decide to go downstairs to the living room.

"You know you're gonna be okay, Olivia," he says as we lay on the sofa watching Netflix. He sees my face drops a little and puts his arm around me for reassurance.

Honestly, the entire situation is confusing me so much. I've wanted nothing but to be with Billie for months and now, when I finally get the opportunity I've been waiting for, I just can't bring myself to talk to her. It's as if something else is in the way, stopping me.

"I'm not sure," I say. And I see Isaac's face change to a mix of sympathy and worry. There's something else too, maybe longing? But for what? For me to be ok? His eyes look deeply into mine as he says:
"I'm sorry"

Now I'm really confused.

"For wha-" but he cuts me off before I can finish. I feel his lips smash on mine.
