Percy's POV
I stumbled out of bed throwing my covers to the side. I grunted in irritation as my alarm burst through my bedroom. Today was Tuesday, that means tutoring. Every Tuesday I wake up a whole 30 minutes early just to here a nerd blab to me about Algebra. Plus, my mom has to pay for it!
I threw on some black Vans, ripped jeans, and a light blue shirt. I rushed into the bathroom scrubbing my teeth with my favorite blue toothpaste and combing my hair to the side. "It desperately needs a cut," my mom added the other day. My green eyes blazed back at me and I smirked.
I twisted into the kitchen grabbing a stack of blue pancakes and drowning them in syrup. My mom sent a glare to me. "What?" I chuckled shoving in a bite. She just snickered and started stacking clean cups into a drawer. I pushed my dishes into the sink, kissed my mom's cheek, and slammed the door behind me.

I pulled my black jeep into a parking spot and shoved myself through the school doors wandering to the library. There she was, Annabeth Chase, smartest girl known to man. The nerd. Her glasses were to the side of her book and she was scanning the pages rapidly. She brought out a highlighter and scribbled down on some words. She then took out her notebook and jotted down notes.
Annabeth Chase was the smartest person I knew. Got A++'s, was almost done with college while still working on graduating this year, and was already offered a full time job after she graduated. She was amazing at soccer and alright at track.
Me? Well I'm Percy Jackson, the most popular teenager in highscool. I play on the football team, I've been to state for swimming 3 years in a row to win first, and I play track along with Annabeth. She was gorgeous, I couldn't deny that... but she would ruin my image. Jason tells me if I want her, I might as well drop out and forget about life. So instead, I'm dating Drew. Just her name gives me irritation on my skin.
"Percy? That you?" Annabeth didn't peek from her book, instead she skipped to the next page still studying it.
"Yeah..." I trudged over and dropped the books on the table. She eased her book shut and placed her glasses on her nose.
"So what are we looking at today?" she wondered and pulled my books to her side of the table. "Algebra.... Geography..... Marine Biology?" her eyebrows questioned me on the last subject.
"I like fish, don't judge." I teased grinning lightly. She rolled her eyes and slipped out my study guide. She glided through it and pointed out an answer. It read:
True of False: All marine animals need salt water to breath- True
"Percy that's wrong..."
"No it's True." I nodded and slumped back in my chair. I knew it was wrong, marine biology was the only class I had an A in... sometimes I like to tease Annabeth, she bites her lip and cocks an eyebrow at me. She always bit her lip when she's irritated. To be honest it was pretty adorable.
"Percy, it's w-"
All of sudden my phone started to blare, "UNDER THE SEA!!! UNDER THE SEA!!!" My cheeks began to burn and I rummaged through my bag vigrorously. Meanwhile Annabeth was doubling over in laughter tears actually filling her eyes. I finally switched off the volume to hear the piercing of Annabeth's laugh.
Her smile was brightening and her eyes squinted when she laughed. She finally took a breath and concentrated on the book once more. Before I could explain a bell went off signaling us it was time for school. I gripped my books and tossed them into my bag. She got up to only trip on her shoelace. She fell into my arms and I held her there for a second. Her stormy gray eyes were blazing and her curly blonde hair was down for once.
