Leo's POV
"Good Morning kids." Principal Chiron stepped to the pulpit that stretched before all of the students of Goode High School. "Prom has been rearranged to begin during football season. Homecoming budgets are low, therefore we only have enough money for Prom. Our Prom Committee has appointed Piper McLean as this years president. She made the request that since Homecoming will no longer be provided that we simply move Prom. I have agreed to her terms and now she may speak." Cheers chanted through the crowd as the lovely girl padded up the stairs to stand before us.
"Welcome, fellow classmates. I'm happy to announce that this years Prom theme will be a competition. We will have the whole school split in half and placed on one of the following teams: Team Half-Blood or Team Jupiter. Each team will compete against each other all of Prom week and then the final battle will be at Prom night where the final challenge will be a dance off. We encourage all students to participate! You don't have to have a date to compete. Thank you!" then she waved proceeding to saunter down the stage in the direction of Jason.
This was an outrage, personally. I have no idea who I'm going to ask. Piper would be my first choice... Taken. Then Calypso. I noticed to my left she was plopped only a person away. Her curly brown hair was tucked neatly in a bun and her cheer uniform was as bright as her smile. Her deep brown eyes twisted to snatch mine. I gave a forced smile, and she waved grinning.
It's decided.

I was the chick magnet at this school, or at least I was convinced of the theory. I mean, have you seen my Mcshizzling Hot Buns?!
Reyna had been informing everyone about out new forced relationship. I've got to admit, deep inside it was a pretty great feeling that I was now one of the most popular guys in school. Jason was getting along with me, Percy respected me, and cheerleaders adored me. Not that they didn't before... The only thing that hadn't changed or progressed was my deep friendzone hole I dug with Piper. She treats me like her little brother, patting me on the head- calling me adorable and pinching my cheeks. The only person who took somewhat of an interest in me was Calypso. Or at least that's what I thought.
I had it all planned. I dumped Reyna right in front of Calypso and her cheer friends. Reyna didn't even care, she simply shrugged and went on to History. Now that I was free it was my moment to show Calypso I was interested.
Since then I'd been spending every breathing moment with her. Chatting, laughing, and just plain hanging out. She keeps speaking about this boy that goes to school with her that's she's fairly close to. She's waiting for him to ask her prom. That was my signal. I arranged a meeting for a place to meet with her. I laid out tons of pom-poms on the football spelling: "Prom?"
I bolted to Math to find Calypso talking with Will Solace. I've got to admit, my heart jumped with jealousy. Will Solace was a very attractive guy, seeing him chatting with my girl made me burst into the conversation. Before I did, I noticed Calypso spinning a piece of hair with her fingers as Will spoke. She giggled, her cheeks growing pink. No way.
I hastily pushed through giving a large smirk. "Hey Cal!" I beamed as she faltered with her words from my sudden gesture.
"Hey ,Leo.... What are you doing?" her eyes set uneasily on me.
"I was wondering if I could show you something." I answered as Will waved 'bye' and slipped out of Math.
"What?" she muttered blowing a piece of hair from her face.
"It's a surprise. You've got to cover your eyes."
"What?"
"Just close them."
She reluctantly locked her eyes then I steered her from Math. Within minutes we arrived at the top of the bleachers that towered over the football field. Jason, Percy, Frank, and Piper were huddled below the field giving a thumbs up. I smiled and commented, "Open."
Her eyes fluttered open and a gas escaped her lips. She read it over and over, not saying a word. After a while she was biting her lip nervously. "Leo... I-"
"It wasn't me was it?"
"What wasn't you?"
"The guy you were talking about."
"No. I'm sorry ,Leo. You're a super nice guy-"
"Can you at least tell me who it is?" So I can take out the competition, I wanted to add.
"Its... Will Solace."
Nico's POV
I fumbled for my books as I attempted to pack them into my back pack. I heard a faint pad of foot steps behind me causing me to sigh. Social activity. I swiveled to find Will Solace leaning over the locker next to me. Will has a sarcastic smirk dancing on his lips, making small skeletal butterflies float in my stomach. His curly blonde hair was brushed to the side while his ocean blue eyes created waves. "Hey ,Death Boy."
"I told you, I don't like it when you call me that." I repeated, like the other various times. He was so agitating sometimes. A hot agitating, my mind added. Shut up. "So. What do you need?" my tone was sharper than expected, but maybe it'll get my point across that he should go away.
"Just saying hi." his smile stretched larger- if that's possible.
"How about you say hi to someone else. Like... a girl?" it hurt to say it, but I always seem to take out my feelings in some anger type of way.
"Girl?" he chuckled as I slammed my locker door then sliding down my locker plopping onto the ground. He followed my actions and stared into the side of my head. I refused to meet his gaze, partially because every part of me desired to battle his blue eyes with my own then just smash my lips to his. So, it was best to not even look at him. "You just assume ,Di Angelo." part of me hurt when he didn't use a nickname.
"Assume? Assume what?"
"What I like and what I don't." he murmured finally dropping his glare from my face allowing me to gaze at him.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"I don't like girls."
"What? Girls are nice. Sexist."
"No," he snickered twiddling his fingers, "I mean I'm... erm, gay." I wished to pass out right then. I almost did, to be honest.
"Like, as in... likes guys- gay?"
"Isn't that what gay is?" his smile returned that warmed my heart.
"I-I guess." at this point my whole body was shaking. I could barely contain myself.
"Whatiwastryingtosaywasthatithinkimaypossiblybysomeoddchancehaveaslightnotreallylargecrushonsomeguythatmayhappentobeyou." his lips moved so fast I thought might be from the Megan Trainor new song.
"What??" was all I seemed to manage.
"Anyway. I was trying to say, that when a guy- hangs around with another guy and is always trying to hang out or chat... the intention from the guy....... is that, maybe, he wishes to hang out more- and b-become more than us know..... erm, friends." his comment sent goosebumps forming on my skin. He liked me. Will Solace liked Nico Di Angelo.
Then, instead of returning my feelings... I dashed from the hall all of the way home.
