Imagine this, if you will,

A large war broke out between forces of light and darkness, casualties ranged from the hundreds of thousands in both sides. As with most fantasies, a chosen warrior slays the king of the darkness, and all is returning to good right? Well, let's put it into the view of our unfortunate victim, Zircon. But before we get to that...

To start, imagine a kingdom of peace, where crime is nonexistent, shops and markets flourish with life of the kingdom villagers, the royal guard stand at the ready at the gates and the large doors of the castle, all the while the king rules next to his queen, and a child under the name of Damian. A knight can be seen rushing on horseback through the kingdom, nearly knocking all in his path, getting closer to the castle. Once he gets inside through the royal guard, he opens his mouth to tell a message, just as behind him, a dark cloud sweeps the land above, and it is clear what is happening even without the knights message.

Villagers look up in confusion, knights and archers stand at their posts at the massive walls of the kingdom, watching the area for any danger, and the king goes to his chambers, where he stands at a balcony overlooking the whole kingdom. It was then the sky started raining, not of rain, but of catapult fire. There wasnt much anyone could do in that moment, the villagers went in disarray, running into any shelter they could seek, knights and archers took cover while gathering together for what was to come next, and when looking for the rest of his family, the king noticed Damian missing. The catapults stopped after a long moment of destruction, and soon they came into view, as their dark armor and large weapons came out from the plains nearby, the dark army charged, the kings army standing at the defense just in front of the gates.

The massacre left only few alive, thousands from the king's army died, the army of darkness almost seemed unstoppable as it was nearing the kingdom gates.
But then, in their last shed of hope, Damian, armed with only a sword and shield, with friends wielding weapons ranging from a bow and arrow to a two-sided battle axe, came onto the battlefield rallying all they could together to fight the enemy, and soon it was in their favor.

Eventually, after a long day of fighting, the army of darkness were defeated, and peace was returning, slowly, back onto the kingdom. Damian, of course, was berated by his father for going onto the battlefield as he did, but was forgiven nonetheless for his heroic act, and was even made general of the royal army. Many of his friends also stood by him, getting appointed their own positions in the army, but there was one that hadn't been recognized as well as the others...our story begins.
