Final Front(2) - part 36

A few days pass as Damian is lining up troops near the fort, examining their armor, their weapons, and examining the cannons. Even more reinforcements led by a Lieutenant kneel at the sight of him, their weapons ready for battle. "We fight not only to win, but to end the corrupt nature of the king behind those walls, sacrificing his own people for what he thinks is the good of his kingdom. He needlessly killed many of ours in his conquest, but now he faces our full might, we will break their walls, kill their defenders, and we will make the king kneel!" Damian says, holding his sword and grabbing a shield. The knights give a shout as he finishes, them banging their swords against their shields in sinc, Damian turning to face the castle. Zircon, Lutol, Maralyne and Tesath stand next to him, each smiling to each other as Rose appears seemingly from nowhere next to them.

"This is the last attack of the war, and will be the end of this adventure. I hope you all are ready for the massive party my father is going to have for our return to the kingdom." Damian says, Lutol laughing a bit. "Your father always held those massive parties for any occasion or celebration, I'm surprised he hasn't run out of money yet!" Zircon changes into his smokey form, and stares only at the castle. "The cannons are about to be firing soon, you guys push on ahead to the castle, I'll evacuate the people almost in an instant." "Cant forget the siege weapon too, I cannot wait to see the pike pull apart those castle doors." Rose says, holding her daggers at the ready.

A few minutes later, and the large booms of cannons erupts from nearby, and it was then the sky started raining, not of rain, but of volleys of cannons. The cannonballs began to crash into the buildings of homes, stores, and much more, people scrambling into buildings for cover. "CHARGE!!" Damian shouts, the army beginning to push towards the village and castle. Zircon began to change almost into a cloud, and began to lift people away on the cloud of smoke as he flew into the wreckage, leaving them a safe distance from the destruction in their home. The army begins to fight heavy resistance as the enemy desperately tries to defend their position, heavy casualties spanning from both sides. As Zircon rounds up the last civilian in the village, he flies in his cloud high above, looking at the battle ahead. He sees Damian and many soldiers fighting near the castle gate, as from down the road Lutol assists with moving the siege weapon into place. As he flies above the many districts of the village, he sees many strange shaped structures, almost like cages with long cables connected that lead to the castle, where a bright arrangement of colors shines from some windows of the castle.

He eventually dives down into the enemy lines near where Damian is fighting, and releases a large smoke cloud, choking any that happened to be in it. As the cloud chokes any in it, Zircon pops out of it and slashes a few enemies, popping back into the cloud after being noticed and attacking another area. "Where the hell is this guy!? Get ready for his next attack!" They shout, Zircon sitting in the smoke for a second before it starts to build up into a giant like before, and it  begins to swing a large scythe around the enemy soldiers. Damian and the friendly soldiers start moving forward as the enemies begin falling back, and once they get into place, Lutol aims the siege weapon at the gate, launching a large spike that bursts through the other side, it pulling the gate down as a rope attached to it is pulled. "Keep moving forward! We'll push into the courtyard and confront the king soon, but we need soldiers to help in the other districts, more notably in the south districts." Damian commands a group of officers, just as Zircon appears in a cloud next to him. "This siege is going far faster than we originally thought, didnt it?" "Dont think this is over yet, they could be hiding their best behind those walls, maybe even more mages or even Valkyries to fight us, if so, just push through us into the castle, we'll hold them away from you." Damian says, Zircon nodding as he changes into a thin smoke trail just as the gates come crashing down, assassins and mages come out of the courtyard and begin to charge at them.

He sneaks by them in his form, watching as they fight the enemy with their full force, all sorts of magic being thrown at them as well as the assassin's daggers. He enters the main hall of the castle and looks around, changing back into his normal form. He sees the wires continue through the castle, and end near the kings throne where they are seated. He changes into a more human form as he looks around, the king staring at him. "You grabbed one of the Valkyrie bloodline enhancers, but you do not look like you're from here...Who are you?" He looks at the wires as the colorful liquid flows to the king, changing back to his normal form. "I come from the west, but that's all that you should know about me, Fire and Storms is a beautiful place, I wonder how quick the people suffering was covered up by the natural beauty?" The king begins to rise from the throne, the liquid then flowing into small canisters on the side of it, they begin walking towards Zircon as they extend their arms outward. "The old king couldn't properly handle his position, and with my help I turned the castle into something greater, we're a superpower now, literally and figuratively." The king says, walking to one end of the throne room and looking at rows of white roses. "With the elimination of most of the Valkyries, I was able to keep the control focused on the kingdom, as old king Rutherford was too caring for them. I harnessed their power within my own, and using the blood of the god before us, I made a powerful army. And with this army I helped shape what my kingdom is today, no other can surpass our might."

Zircon holds his dagger to the king, smiling. "Then we'll go down in history as the first to storm your kingdom, do you not hear the cannons tear down your walls? We broke through, and soon you'll face what crimes you committed fighting our kingdom." Just as he finishes this, Damian, Tesath, Rose, Lutol and Maralyne enter the throne room. "This is but a minor setback, as you will see once I bring you all down under my control, especially since my power is like no other you've seen." Zircon only stares at the king with murderous intent, Damian and the rest stand next to him at the ready, waiting for what the king is going to do. All of a sudden, Zircon begins walking towards the king and kneels, everyone staring at him with confusion, Zircon himself even looking confused. "Now, kill your friends, we have matters to discuss."
