Day 32 - One of the smoke bombs went off on me when I was about to put the striker in place, and after coughing up quite a bit, and washing off the marks it left on my face and mask with my canteen, I finally made a dozen smoke bombs, and after cleaning it of the marks too, I picked the vial up again, but noticed that it now only remained in a grayish color, it shifting from a darker shade to a lighter shade instead of being all those other colors now. It reacted to the smoke from the bomb, but until I figure out what it is, I'll have to hold off on doing anything with it. Getting back to camp revealed that an enemy scouting party came by and attacked a small group that wasnt exactly keeping watch on the forest line. After being berated by the Colonel, they were sent to the medical tent, me following behind to help Tesath some more with them. Watching her work is very weird, but amazing as well, especially since you don't really notice anything except for the fact that any pain you were feeling would slowly disappear, and I know that feeling. Just watching as a bright light comes from her hands onto the soldier is amazing enough, but when the wound almost seems to fade away, it just wouldn't make any sense if you didnt know she was one of the last Valkyries that are alive today.
Day 33 - I finally was able to do something with that vial from before, and after drawing some blood from myself, I put it in a small tray in my kit, and dripped a small drop of the vial's liquid onto it, the blood that was put onto the tray seemed to change into a state similar to the vials, if it is blood in there, and it even changed into a somewhat gray color until eventually stuck with the red color it was before. Returning to camp with the smoke bombs and giving them to Damian, we knew that when those reinforcements came, hopefully in two or three days, we'll attack soon, but it all depends on how the battle plays out, especially if they launch a gigantic defense similar to their attack on the castle, since they have the numbers for it. Not much else happened today, other than helping out more troops in medical, bringing a shipment of processed iron and steel from the village, and sharpening my blades in the tent.
Day 35 - We now have finally started the construction of the makeshift fort walls with the newly cut trunks from the forest's trees. Watching Lutol and the soldiers lift those trunks up is amazing, it's almost as if his axe was heavier than those trees, especially since he could carry a single trunk with his bare hands and put it where the walls were going to be. Though our soldiers definitely cant do anything he can, we have teams pick up the log and set them down next to each other, then wrap a rope around four to five logs and then use that rope to lift them all upright, though, it is kind of funny watching six soldiers trying to lift a part of the wall until Lutol then comes by and lifts it for them. After we got most of the wall up and reinforced it with most of the materials from the village, we now felt a bit safer knowing they cant just waltz right in and kill us all when our camp watch slacks in their duty. Finishing up on the last wall only makes me question why the dark army didnt attempt to attack us while we were building the walls up, especially since we were cut off by a near hundred soldiers from our five hundred. They have much greater numbers against us, but they didnt try to attack, or even acknowledge us. Whether they're getting ready for the attack we're planning to do soon, or they're just letting us do it to get us questioning their capabilities or doubting them until they overwhelm us on the defense or what is beyond me. A knight on horseback came in from the forest earlier though, saying the caravan of supplies and soldiers was most likely going to arrive tomorrow though, so maybe after two or three days, we'll finally be the ones pushing them back. This'll be my last entry into this journal, so hopefully after this, we'll see where we'll go from here, hopefully on the final siege to the castle.
