It hits, right in one of the assassin's legs, and they let out a cry in pain. As they fall to the ground and try to cover the wound with their hands, Damian and Osred come out from their tents, seeing the assassin first and then look at Zircon as he breathes heavily. "What happened?" Damian runs to Zircon, his legs shaking. "That person, they were planning to assassinate us... I had to stop them, I think they tried to go in Maralyne's tent..." Osred walks to the assassin, and they look at him while still covering the wound. "So here's what I want to know..." Osred said as he kneels down next to the assassin, who looks at him as he grabs the knife Zircon threw at their leg. "Who's kingdom do you serve, and why would they attack a few hired adventurers on their way to fulfill whatever adventure they were sent on?"
The assassin, looking only at Osred with hate, stayed silent only for the grunts of pain. Osred then slowly starts to twist the knife and dig it deeper into their leg, only smiling as he does it. After a second of pain, the assassin cries out, a female voice saying, "Okay okay! I'm from the east! We knew you all had started to move towards us, and the king made assassins, just to pick off small groups of people and give intel on larger groups so we can ambush them!" Osred stops, and takes the knife out, grabbing a small pouch from his side, pulls a bandage from it, and begins to wrap the assassins leg. Zircon, Damian, and the assassin look at Osred, confused, and Damian walks to them. "What are you doing? They tried to kill us, so shouldn't we tie them so that way they wouldn't run off before we tend to them?" Osred keeps working on the leg, and pulls out a small bottle, pouring its green contents on the wound, "That would be the case if it were any other kingdom, but I sense that theres more to the story Tesath doesnt know of, wouldn't you say?" The assassin looks at Osred, then looks away. "The king stole some of us from our families, and forced us to do whatever cruel things he wanted us to do, whether it was working as a slave or to satisfy his lust. Some of us were trained brutally to become assassins like me, I'm one of the top in my class, but to be bested by someone like him..." she looks at Zircon. "To be bested by him is unbelievable, he would've had to gone through many years of training and silence to hear me coming..."
Zircon walks to them, his face showing signs of anger building up in him. "Well it's a good thing you don't know anything about me. The others may be known in the kingdom and in areas nearby, but I prefer to keep myself hidden away, it's the element of surprise that can turn the tide in battle completely around." "I've studied your group and now that I see you in person, my theories on missing pieces make sense now." The assassin says as Osred finishes with the bandages and gets up, the assassin repositioning herself to sit down. "It didnt make sense when the group of raiders were stopped before they even got to the convoy of supplies when we got the reports, and when you all were pinned in a village by a larger group of raiders, only to know their every move and defeat them." Damian looks to the assassin from where he stood, "The only reports that were made about those days were stored in the castle, how did you get inside to look at them?" The assassin chuckles, "we have spies that are everywhere, even in your army. I wouldn't be surprised if they brought them to a trap set up by our ambushing squads as of today."
Damain clenches his fist as Maralyne and Tesath come out of their tents, wiping their eyes. "What the hell is with all the noise?" Maralyne says as she stretches. "We had a bit of an intruder in our camp, but Zircon took care of them faster than it would've taken us to draw our weapons in battle, all with a quick throw with one of those knives he carries with him." They look at the assassin, and Tesath runs in her tent, pulling out her spear. "Not to sound rude Osred, but those healing items, especially the ones you used, wont be as effective as my spear would've, especially with how you used them." "I know, but I had to get a quick chat with our guest here." Tesath looks at Osred as he gets up and walks to his tent. Tesath holds her spear up, a strange glow coming from the spearhead as she then points it to the assassin, their leg and other areas start to glow as they look at her. "So you're the so called 'Valkyrie,' I'm sorry to tell you that you may be the last of them." Damain kneels down next to them as the bandages start to fall off. "We never got your name, and we still need answers from you about the East kingdom."
The assassin takes the loose bandages off as she looks at Damian, "we were just told to forget our identity and do as we were told, so I dont have a name. As for the kingdom, if you let me go I will tell you everything I know about the kingdom." Zircon walks toward the two, "After you tried to kill us all? You'd be lucky if we didn't tie you up and leave you out here." Damian shot a look at Zircon, and gets up, extending a hand to the assassin. They take his hand, and he helps them up, Damian quickly looking around until whispering in the assassins ear for a second.
"Fine, but maybe you could prove more useful to us, maybe we could work together in a way." Damian says as Zircon watches in slight disbelief. "Maybe we could, maybe not, I'm sure this wont be our final encounter, but I best be on my way for now." The assassin begins to walk away, through the large blades of grass until nearly disappearing inside. Zircon shakes his head and lays down onto the grass, thinking of their situation before trying to fall asleep.
