Draught of Living Death

Lisette stood up and walked to their Transfiguration classroom. The Ravenclaws had Transfiguration with the Slytherins then Care for Magical Creatures with the Griffindors.

"Cromar!" Lisette called after Zayn as she ran up to him.

"Hey, Mae." Zayn smiled.

"You seem happy." Lisette raised an eyebrow.

"You seem angry." Zayn shrugged.

"I am. I'm still...I guess I just wanna...high five Kitara in the face with a brick a hundred times." Lisette sighed.

Zayn nodded just as they were by the door of Transfiguration. "I can relate." He said.

Kitara stood up from her seat and skipped happily to Zayn. "Hi, Zayn." She smiled.

Lisette's eyebrow twitched and her hands balled into fists.

"Oh," Kitara said rather disgustedly. "Hi, Mae."

"Hello, Kitara." Lisette said through gritted teeth. It looked pretty clear that Lisette wanted nothing more than to Accio a brick from a nearby wall and pound it over and over Kitara's face.

"Listen, I don't and I will not be listening to your bullshit after what you did to Valerie." Zayn snapped.

Kitara looked hurt. "You know I wouldn't do that! It was Mary's fault! She told me to do it!" She retorted.

"I told you to do what?" Said a sharp voice behind them. They all looked around and saw a girl with brown hair and bloodlust eyes. "You're putting the blame on me, Maria? Just because we're friends?"

"Yes, I am, Mary, and if you have a problem with it, deal with it!" Kitara snapped back.

"You know I was the one who told you to not hurt Valerie. I was the one who told you to leave her alone. But you did it anyway." Mary growled.

"You told me to stop? You? I believe it was Jennifer. Quit lying, Pine." Kitara barked.

Mary rolled her eyes. "Sure, I'll quit lying once you confess what you did to Valerie that night." She spat.

Kitara's eyes widened and she glared at Mary venomously. "Don't you dare, Pine." She warned.

"What did she do?" Zayn demanded at Mary.

"The cut on Valerie's leg was caused by a knife," Mary said. "The knife that cut her," She paused, glaring a deadly one at Kitara. "Was poisoned."

Zayn's eyes looked horrified. "What kind of poison?" He asked in a terrified voice.

Mary eyed him as if saying, 'You don't wanna know', but said, "Draught of Living Death." With eyes of complete regret.

Kitara's glare turned from terrifying to deadly. She lifted her hand and slapped Mary across the face. "You bitch! I trusted you with everything!" Kitara screeched.

Mary looked at her with a calm glare (A/N: wait, what?). "That was your mistake, Maria." She said quietly.

Lisette's breathe fastened and she ran out of the classroom as fast as she could. Zayn followed her.

-at Defence Against the Dark Arts-

Valerie was chatting with Alyssa when she felt suddenly sleepy.

Lisette stopped at the classroom door panting heavily. "Valerie! Hospital Wing now!" She ordered.

"Lizzy? What are you doing here?" Valerie asked looking shocked.

"Valerie, I have no time to explain, just get up!" Lisette said hurriedly, still panting.

Edwin got up and rushed to her. "Lis, what's wrong?" He asked worriedly.

"VALERIE'S CUT IS POISONED WITH DRAUGHT OF LIVING DEATH!" Lisette screamed.

The class gasped and were horrified when Valerie just collapsed to the ground.

"VALERIE!" Lisette screeched, looking as though she would've traded her whole life to have Valerie safe.

Zayn arrived at the door and had all negative emotions on his face when he saw Valerie just as Professor Mitto entered the room, looking just as shocked.

"What happened?!" He demanded.

Lisette looked at him seriously. "Valerie has a cut and the knife that cut her was poisoned with Draught of Living Death." She said calmly but hurriedly, and you could see the horror in her eyes very clearly.

Professor Mitto looked horrified and quickly ran up to Valerie, holding her in his arms. "Class dismissed!" He said as he ran out the door with Edwin, Zayn, Lisette and Alyssa tailing behind.

-in the Hospital Wing-

Madam Kiesha came out of a patient's room when she heard the door open and looked horridly at Valerie.

"Draught of Living Death, Kiesha. Check her up immediately!" Professor Mitto said hurriedly and Madam Kiesha nodded, pointing to a nearby bed.

Professor Mitto placed Valerie on the bed as her friends surrounded her.

"Wh-What happened? H-How did Valerie get poisoned?" Alyssa asked in a voice of fear.

"Her cut. It was poisoned." Lisette said angrily as if she were talking to Kitara.

"My dears, I'm afraid she'll need only one person to stay to keep her company while I take care of the Quidditch players." Madam Kiesha said sadly.

"I'll stay here." Alyssa said calmly.

"No, let me." Lisette offered.

"I'll do it." Edwin said.

"No, I'll do it. You guys just write us notes." Zayn volunteered.

Madam Kiesha looked troubled. "Heads or tails." She said, taking a Knut from her pocket. "Ms Mae and Ms Claw first."

"Heads." Lisette said.

"Tails." Alyssa shrugged.

Madam Kiesha flipped the coin. "It's tails. Now Ms Claw and Mister Nids." She said, positioning the coin to get flipped again.

"Tails." Edwin smiled.

"Heads." Alyssa shrugged again.

Madam Kiesha flipped the coin again, (A/N: so, Madam Kiesha is just letting the injured Quidditch players wait while they play coin-toss? Siriusly...) And this time it landed on heads. "Ms Claw and Mister Cromar." She sighed.

"Heads." Alyssa smiled.

"Tails." Zayn said softly.

Madam Kiesha flipped the coin again and it landed on tails. "It's settled. Mister Cromar will stay with Ms Joyce." She said softly.

"Should we leave?" Lisette asked.

"You still have classes don't you?" Madam Kiesha smiled as she walked out of their sight.

Alyssa looked at Lisette then at Valerie. "You better take good care of my girl, Cromar. Oh, and a little help, she has autophobia, so don't leave her alone. Especially in the night." She told Zayn.

"What does autophobia mean?" Zayn asked.

Lisette facepalms and Edwin laughs. "It means she's scared of being alone." Lisette muttered.

Zayn's eyes looked down. "That makes two of us." He said sadly.

"You have that too?" Edwin raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah. Ever since my father died. He was the only one who I can call a real friend before I attended Hogwarts." Zayn sighed, then looked up and smiled. "You guys better go on. Mae, Edwin, if Professor Linn asks why I'm not there, tell her I need to take care of Valerie. The rest will understand, but Professor Linn will blow off Hogwarts roof."

Lisette, Alyssa and Edwin laughed, and after a while, left Zayn with Valerie.
