Chapter 7

Tris P.O.V

"Tris why are there cuts and bruises on your face?"He asks.

I forgot to put on foundation to cover it!

"Uh...Kathy accidentally scratched me with her fake nails and I fell of my bed making me hit myself on the nightstand."I quickly lie.

"Do you really think I'm that stupid?"

"Listen Tobias that is the truth and nothing but the truth and if you choose not to believe it then it's your deal."I tell him.

"Tris don't get mad. I only asked because I care for you."He explains as he kisses the top of my head.

"I know, Tobias."

I kiss him and say"I'm going with Christina."

He nods.

Tobias P.O.V

I've known Tris way too long to know that she just straight up lied.

I just don't want to anger her. She's mine and I can't lose her.

I have to find out what's happening.

I walk to the office and ask,"I need to take my little sister to the doctor."

"Okay your absence will be marked as excused."responds Nita the secretary.

I hop into my car and drive to Tris's house.

I knock on the door.

Natalie opens it and says"Tobias why aren't you at school?"

"Mrs.Prior I need to talk to you."I reply.

She nods and ushers me in.

We sit down at the table.

"Okay Tobias what's wrong?"She questions.

"Tris,"I pause."She's been acting strange and she's lying to me.Do you know why?"

"No she hasn't been strange around the house."

"I just wanted to know. Tris is my whole world and I just want the best for her."

"Tobias I know. You guys have been inseparable and if I notice anything I'll inform you."She says.

"Thank you Mrs.Prior, and please don't tell Tris I was here."

"Yes of course and please call me Natalie."

I smile and show myself out.

I hop in my car and drive. Maybe it wasn't a lie. Maybe I'm overreacting.

I nod to myself.

Tris P.O.V

The bell rings for second period and I'm quickly out the door. Tobias didn't show up and I'm worried sick.

I see him walking through the halls to his locker.

"Tobias!!"I yell. I run into his arms.

He catches me and I nuzzle my face into the crook of his neck.

"Where were you,Tobias?"

"I had to take Genesis to the doctor."

"Next time tell me. I was worried so much."

"Aww Tris. Listen don't worry about me I'll always be fine and always come back to have you in my arms."

I pull back from his neck and look at him.

He fits his lips to mine and I kiss back.

The bell rings,but neither of us make the slightest move.

He pulls back and says"I love you,Tris."

"I love you,Tobias."

He carries me to second period with my legs around his torso and my face nestled in the crook of his neck.
