Uh-oh
Counselling meant spilling secrets, which did not sound good to Nico. And spill his secrets to whom? Will Solace. Will will surely ask him to recount his latest nightmare; well, talking about his mother's and sister's death was definitely disturbing. But the incident in Split was the worst; Eros' deep voice still rang in his head.
Jason, Annabeth and Percy were the only ones around who did not know that he was...well that he was into guys. Sharing about the run-in with Eros automatically meant spilling the fact that he was gay.
Will's voice broke his train of thoughts. '...I'm not exactly keen on it, but it seems necessary. Are ya even listening to me Death Boy?' Will asked. 'Um...what? Yes Solace, continue with your lecture. And don't call me Death Boy.' Will rolled his eyes and said 'Whatever, Death Boy. We'll start from today. Meet me at the beach at 3 in the afternoon.' Will said, getting up. 'See ya.'
He left. Nico sighed and slid back to his bunk.
So three at afternoon's it, he thought.****
'Shoot at the count of three', Chiron said. 'One...Two...Three...SHOOT!' he cried. The Apollo cabin released their arrows. It was their regular archery lesson with Chiron. Courtesy to their godly father, Apollo cabin had some of the finest archers at the cabin. Since, archers are greatly needed for traps in capture the flags and wars, it was one of the bragging rights the Apollo cabin had reserved.
'Alright! Let's see...', Chiron said, taking a round at their targets. They were shooting from a 50m shooting range. 'Hmm...well done Kayla. I guess you have the best shot.' Kayla beamed. She was considered the best shot in the cabin with the best archers, which technically made her the best archer in the camp. (Ik this doesn't make sense)
As a testimony to her skill, her arrow had hit a point pretty near to the bull's eye. 'Will Solace, I know shooting isn't exactly your thing, but I have seen you do better than this.' Chiron said. Will sighed. His performance today was his worst one in the recent years. He wasn't exactly a pro at archery, but still he has never missed the target board. He felt sort of low standing right next to Kayla, whose arrow missed the bull's eye by centimeters.
'Well, someone's distracted', Kayla said, only loud enough for him to hear. 'Shut up Kayla', Will muttered. She stuck her tongue out at him. At that moment, Chiron said, 'Okay, practise well. Will, Austin you can do better. I know you have got other skills, but don't embarass your father like this. Well, see you tomorrow.' He galloped away to the Big House. The people started walking towards their cabin. 'What's on your mind Solace?' Kayla asked as they were walking towards their cabin.
Will forced himself to look into his siser's dark blue eyes. For apparent reasons, Will was closest to Kayla. She was a seasoned archer, the best shot in the camp. But that didn't stop her from being understanding and sensitive. She was the only person in the camp who knew that Will was bisexual. (Will was bi, right??)
'Well...' Will hesitated. True, he never kept secrets from his sister, but telling all this to her meant incessestant teasing for a week. But he couldn't keep that to herself. So he spilled everything to her. 'Oohhh...that's nice Solace. I didn't know you would be so fast. Anyways, enjoy your...ah, counselling session.' Kayla said. 'I don't like your tone Kayla. It's just a session.' Will said, feeling the blood rise to his face. 'You never know!' Kayla sang, 'Maybe...you'll find your man after all.' 'What the heck Kayla, it's nothing like that. Nico's my exact opposite. There can be nothing between us.' Will might have sounded more miserable than he thought, because Kayla's expression softened.
'Don't worry Will. You never know what might happen. I see you like him.' Kayla said. 'What!!? No!! It's nothing like that...No no...' Will stuttered. He was defintely blushing now. He never thought about that. Okay, he might have a small crush on Nico...but there was nothing more than that.
Kayla did not bring up the topic untill lunch. At the end of the luch, she said in a low voice, 'Listen Solace, you can't lie to me. I know you like that di Angelo kid. Now go, 'cause it's almost 2:55.' Will checked his watch. Kayla was right. He got up from the table, muttering a thank you to Kayla he sprinted to the beach. There he saw a average-tall figure in black, staring at the water.
Nico di Angelo was here.
