Chapter 7

Suhaan was back to Mumbai the after 2 days along with Granny. He was yet to inform Reva that he was back though they were in touch via messages. He had a strong urge to meet her but he thought of surprising her by day end. He headed directly to his work since he had a few meetings lined up. There was vibrant spark visible in his eyes; he was all pepped up, which was observed by all in his office. Mr Verma was curious to know the real cause behind his happiness. He was very professional with Suhaan but somewhere on a personal front he still held a grudge against him for dumping his daughter.

Back at Reva's home (after Suhaan dropped her...)

No sooner Reva entered her residence than Mr. Roy hugged her, he was happy that she was back. He had understood that he failed as a father else Reva would have confided her apprehensions and fears regarding her wedding with Akhil.

"I am sorry, I know you faced a lot of melodrama coz of me mom and the media. But dad I tried my best to tell mom but she was least bothered." She apologized feeling really sad for him. He din't deserve this shame. She was guilt ridden and her face showed every bit of it.

"Its fine Reva, as a father I want your happiness not just for Jiya but you as well. If your biological father would have been alive he would have supported your decision. I do stand by you. I have already discussed with Poorna at length and she admitted that you told her number of times but all she wanted that you to settle down in a wealthy familyregardless and she overlooked every other aspect. I was shocked with this relavation but then I shot back at her since she knew what was happening behind my back. Reva you could have told me once, I know we dont share a great rapport but you could have approached me, I would have heard you dear.

I had to be curt to drive sense in Poorna. She is stubborn at times. The next, I spoke to Jiya, yes I know that she has never considered you an elder sister and not accepted Poorna in totality but stil holding a grudge whci could spoil lives isnt justified at all. This was out of sheer malice that I gave your mother Poorna, her mother's place, like a cold revenge, but it's not done. Both of us loved our spouses dearly but fate snatched them away from us. We both took a wisely decision as we both needed companions. She wanted security and I wanted stability. Poorna has been the best mother figure for Jiya, but her bad, Jiya never acknowledged it. You both could be the best of friends and sisters but she I guess Jiya ruined it. And I feel I failed as a father and husband to make ahappy family. Jiya isnt a bad person, she is become bitter after her mother's death, love and trust is what is lacking in her life. " He thumped on the chair and sobbed.

"Dad please, you are havent failed," said feeble voice, as Reva turned; it was Jiya who stood with her head cast down. She ran to him, the trio hugged and sobbed. Jiya was ashamed for her deeds. She amended her ways with Reva.

"I am sorry Reva, I never understood you, and it was rat race for me. All I wanted to take everything you had including Akhil, but somewhere we both were attracted. I hope you would understand. I know what I did was wrong but please don't judge me, it is my insecurities and anger which took place in eyes and heart I dint even treat Poorna mom decently though she was always good to me than you." Jiya confided.

Poorna who was on pins and needles eversince Reva left the altar, she accused herself for everything. She was in a blue funk. She heard sobs and ran to out; she heard Jiya's apology and Reva's forgiveness. It was her turn to be their mother once again, it was the time to leave page 3 life and become Roy's wife, the same old loving homemaker who had concealed herself in this shuck and jive life.

Reva ran and sobbed in her mother's arms and so did Poorna; she knew she had ignored her daughter in past few years, she was very guilty about it, but now she wanted compensate all of it. Reva was about to justify her stance but her mother shushed her. "Nothing doing Reva, I want my daughter back, I missed you." Poorna wailed again.
