Chapter 2
No sooner the car entered the premises of Roy House, Reva got down asking her driver to go back to the venue. She dreaded to even think what would the scene there, it would be so embarrassing for her parents but then she had to do it. Her mother who was a part time page 3 celeb would be red in anger, even redder then the Bobi brown blush-on she had applied for the function.
Reva laughed at that thought but then the next move now, “run, Reva, run.” She felt she was reliving Milkha Singh’s movie.
She shrugged those notions and focused, as she barged into her room, her housekeeper, Savita, was at her service. Savita had kept a medium bag ready as instructed. Reva dumped a couple of dresses, tees, shorts and her essentials but of course and her toiletries too, the most important of all for women. He eyes rested on the luggage which were packed already for her lifetime send off, her wedding bags what else… she wanted to kick it off at the moment, specially that overnight bag…..uff the first night bag!!!, with some sexy wear. Was she really gonna have sex with Akhil after she knew he had explored Jiya, though partially, but he had? Reva how could you think of sleeping with him it was just lust, right…yes right” she talked to herself. She turned back to what she was doing. Her eyes were roaming around, her wardrobe; her shelves etc… and back to her hand bag.
“Reva you need to leave, Do fast” she murmured to herself.
“Reva, think again” requested Savita in her soft tone.
“It’s now or never” she erupted.
“But Mrs Roy, don’t you know her?” Savita pleaded.
“Mr. Roy will handle her, and pg 3 will cover her, it great for her image in a way.” Reva commented.
“That’s not done, Reva.” Savita was bit stern.
“Life is not fair and I am doing justice with myself.” Reva blew a kiss in air towards Savita.
“where will you go?” Savita was concerned.
“I will be safe promise, handle it now bye.” Reva picked the bag was about to rush towards the door before that she rechecked her purse, cash, cards all sorted; dumping her phone on the bed scribbling a cursory note quickly, she requested her housekeeper to hand it over to Mr Roy only.
Before anyone would come or the press arrived, since this would be the breaking news by now she had to push out. She was not ready to waste a single minute in changing the attire as it would takes ages to get rid of it and the damn hairdo which looked like “chidiya ka ghosla” to her. She was running out of time and she left picking her stuff. She jumped in the gift which Akhil had presented to her, dumping her bag behind, rolling those tinted windows to avoid any eyes, and igniting the engine she zoomed out.
Reva dint know where this journey was going to take her? What she would do next? She was blank all knew she would figure it out once she reached her friends farm house. She was simply happy that she followed her heart and she wasn’t at all guilty about jilting that asshole. She took the route from Mumbai towards Karjat. She was nearing to her destination and some 38 odd kilometers before her sedan ramshackled, leaving Reva in a soup. Wow what a situation… just like that of the bollywood movies.
The condition that she was thrown into was ridiculous. A runaway bride with no modern day gadgets to connect, in the middle of a highway and the stifling heat was making her head spin, “Hurray!!!” she taunted to no one actually but it was self pity.
She had never imagined such atypical scene “A damsel in distress” and expecting “her knight in shining armor” would arise from somewhere to save her. She looked around there was nothing much but spread of semi barren farms across. The heat was killing her and her outfit made her uncomfortable as she got off her car. She looked towards the empty highway, no vehicles, no passer- by, nothing but the hot air getting hotter. “God how much will you test me?”She muttered in frustration.
