Chapter 18

...

"So have been able to get into contact with him?" Forina asked Alec as she stood up on a  platform for her dress fitting.

"No, I haven't," He said clearly frustrated, "but we both know someone who can..." Alec said while he lazily flipped through the pages of a fashion magazine, his frustration now gone in a split second.

"And who do we know?" she asked intrigued.

"Freya, allegedly he's in their territory," Alec informed her with a smirk.

"We'll need something that she wants. You know Freya doesn't do anything unless it benefits her." Forina said while admiring herself in the mirror.

"That's not hard at all, you know how vain she can be and if that doesn't work then I can have a word with her. I've been practising." He chuckled.

"We're going to be a force to be reeking with." She smirked.

"I can't agree with you more." They share in a secretive smirk.

Everything would soon fall into place and they would prove all that thought them weak... wrong. They would not only equal the coven masters but exceed them, and they would do it together.

They had been underestimated, taunted and made to be weak and submissive but no more. This was their time.

...

"Miss Freya, you have a visitor." Freya looked up in confusion, as she hadn't expected anyone.

"Who is it?" she asked curiously.

"Alec Greene, a friend of Mrs Forina."

Freya frowned as she nodded for Alec to be let in. She had never understood the relationship that Forina and Alec had shared. She had once thought that their relationship was something more than friends but the thought was quickly shot down as Forina burst into laughter at the very mention of her and Alec in a romantic relationship

"Alec... Why are you here?" she asked as he walked confidently in the room, never missing a beat as if he had theme music in the background.

"As you know, there will be a ball in a week. I need you to send word to your territory." He smiled flirtatiously.

"But the ball is only for your coven." She said and stared at him.

"Yes but we want a special someone to attend." He smiled and approached her slowly, taking his time to circle her and fully think his actions through.

"And who is this special someone?" she asked and eyed him cautiously.

"You don't need to worry about that love..." he said into her ear as he brushed her hair back and trailed his fingers down her arm.

"What's in it for me?" Freya asked as his breath hit her skin in delicious waves that sent shivers down her spine.

"What do you desire?" he asked, his fingers barely touching her and yet his very voice triggered goosebumps.

She froze and tried to regain control of her mind as she knew this was him trying to get what he wanted.

"Nothing." She said, her voice stronger this time as she pulled back. She wasn't going to succumb to little flirtations and touching just because he was good looking. She was stronger than that.

"Tell me who this person is." She commanded this time.

"Oh Freya, I guess it's going to be the hard way then..." he sighed and grabbed her face before she could do anything.

"Why do you have to make everything so difficult..." he growled in annoyance and forced her gaze upon him, her pupils dilated as she made direct eye contact...

And then as if she was in a dreamland, she stopped struggling and leaned against him in a daze.

"Now Freya, you are going to do what I ask, won't you?" he said, his voice commanding.

She nodded, "What are you?" she asked her voice so frail.

"Oh love, I'm like you but stronger and better." He patted her face sardonically and let go.

"You will send word about the ball, also about Casimir's paranoia. I want it to seem like leaked information. It'll be done by tonight. The ball it on all Hallows eve so I want everything to be perfect.

You have enough time and resources. You don't want to know what will happen if you don't succeed. Also, you will not tell anyone about this, in fact after your task is complete then you will forget all about this." Alec finished off and tore his eyes away; his eyes went back to normal after being complete back as were the signs of his dark gift.

...

"Is it done?" Forina as she played with a little darkened version of a panther, one of the most favourite uses of her powers. It was completely black with sin and darkness... and she had full control of it

And yet she let it run wild as it had no loyalty to anyone but her and was so intelligent that it kept to the shadow until it knew it was time to show itself to others.

"It's done. I had to do it the hard way since the bitch was asking too many questions." Alec replied and fell into the vacant chair with half a sigh and yawn.

"Good, why don't you go relax and treat yourself? You've earned it. I know how much it takes out of you." Forina told him, referring to his dark gift as he hadn't quite mastered it yet.

His dark gift was quite hard to use in itself, it was all about the mindset, his gift was compulsion or something with relations with compulsion. Sometimes he could use with just being with their presence and sometimes it would break before he was done with the sentence.

He still needed to learn and Forina would help him every step of the way.

And so the two best friends retired to their chamber and indulged in the many luxuries they had and waited patiently as pieces of the puzzle fell into place.

It was like chest in a way and Forina was playing to win, only five more moves until checkmate.
