Chapter 32
...
In the eyes of death, I stared and greeted him with a sweet kiss as I was not afraid of him because we both knew I was the one that should truly be feared...
Because when a mother is threatened, no one is safe from her wrath. That is a mother's promise.
...
"What's wrong with her?" Andrei asked Dr Felton as he sat beside his wife, caressing her hair as she was completely motionless.
"As you know, pregnancy in vampires causes mothers to become extremely vulnerable. There as traces of nightshade in her blood." Dr Felton explained and sighed in relief then continued.
"Luckily not enough to do serious harm but enough to put her out for a bit. She needs to rest as her body fights the poison." Dr Felton explained with a reassuring smile.
"So they will both be fine, Will it affect the baby in any way?" he asked in concern.
"Thankfully no, I'm going to set up a couple of blood bags. It'll help clean her blood along with accelerating the healing and regain of strength to both her and the baby." Dr Felton told him and was about to leave when she stopped in mid-step.
"I'm afraid I can't allow you to do that..."

My body shot up as a sudden burst of energy erupted from my heart. My heart, the last thing I remember was a man, he looked like an angel but he had the aura of the devil.
'Where am I?' I wondered as I started to explore my surroundings. Everything was much more clear. The sound of birds and nature was the only thing filling the air as I was overwhelmed with a sweet smell.
The soil under my feet felt different so did the air. Had I died?
Was I in heaven?
"Please! I'm innocent! I'm not a witch!" A familiar voice pleaded in fear. My body reacted on its own as I knew that voice. My Forina, never had I heard her like that, so in pain, so scared. It felt like my soul was being ripped apart.
"Bring her forward!" I heard someone say while I heard people cheering. "Hand her, burn her," they said.
"Please! I'm not a witch! I'm innocent! Please help me!" she screamed and pleaded. Her voice getting louder as I got closer but it was as if I everything was against me as I ran as fast as I could.
"For the crimes of witchcraft, the devils magic, I hereby sentence you to death by the power of God and the church." The pastor spoke to which no one intervened. No one stood up and no one opposed.
"No, please!" she sobbed, "I'm coming... please let me save her," I begged the heavens.
"May God forgive you for consorting with the devil." The pastor said and started to recite the words from the bible.
The guards tied her to the stake and stood back. The fire was bright and angry and the screams were loud and painful.
And just as I arrived, I was too late. My Forina, Gone...

"I'm afraid I can't allow you to do that..." Casimir said with a smug grin as he walked into the room. He was here...the author of our pain and suffering.
"I am going to tear out you hear as a gift for my wife." I snarled in anger as I was about to lunge forward.
"Oh, I wouldn't do that if I were you," he said as someone else entered the room.
"Daddy!" my head snapped to Darius as he was held back by a man who closely resembled Casimir.
"I don't think you've met James," Casimir said as he motioned to the man holding my son.
"Why are you doing this," I asked him the burning question.
"I think it quite obvious. I want Forina back." He snarled his eyes glaring as insanity was clear as the sun.
"Why her?" I asked. I needed to know why her, why my wife...
"She's my daughter." He answered now calmer.
"She's not your daughter. Your daughters dead." I told him in frustration. How could he still think that...
"She is! She's mine! She's my Lara!!!" he screamed, madness taking over any sanity he had left.
"She's not Lara!" I screamed back and lunged forward at him.
"James!" he called out and immediately I felt fear and pain, gone was the anger which was replaced with insecurity and anxiety.
"James here is an empath, but not only can he feel emotions but he can control them too. Quite handy if I don't say so myself." He grinned widely as he went closer to Forina. In his hand a knife.
"Stop Casimir, Don't do this!" I pleaded. Again I was going to fail my wife.
"If it lives you can keep it." He cackled.
"I'll do anything, Please stop!" I screamed as James continued to use his ability on me.
Casimir got closer to Forina. His grip on the knife tight as he pointed the sharp edges to her belly that carried our child.
He was going to cut out the baby... there was nothing in my life or my previous life of being a human that ever prepared me for this horror.
All I could do was watch as he got closer. James weighing me down, drowning me in horror as they forced me to watch...
Maybe this was karma for all the bad things I did, it had to be... but why her... why my Forina...
"STOP!!!"
