The sky was bleak yet boastful, making the sun come out in hiding. But despite the sordid morning, Paris was still as romantic as ever.

The bag of unfortunate croissants that he brought up to her room was unrecognizable because of the unexpected circumstance. So when the car passed near a bakery by the Seine River, he asked Clément to pull over so they could have a bite before heading to their first stop.

The middle-aged gentleman driving has been a long-time family friend and chauffeur of his grandfather. When TJ sent him a message this morning, he responded and picked him up in haste. He joined them for a café express and toasty, buttery croissants after somehow finding a parking spot.

A few exceptional souls and sunrise enthusiasts were with them when they climbed up the famous Arc de Triomphe at the west end of Champs Elysees. It seemed like the world was struggling to start the day today, expecting the cold air to leave. But once atop the monument, heavy clouds broke open as the sun's bright rays filtered over the whole city. The skies had cleared and broken into wisps of white cotton mists.

"I don't want this to be over," she murmured as a golden ray hit her cheeks.

"This doesn't have to end. We should give this a try." He tucked a wisp of hair behind her ear. When his hand touched her skin, warm energy filled his soul. Uncertainty at once faded, and he was basking in clarity.

"We'll be thousands of miles apart. In two days, I'll be flying to Prague."

"I can take a flight to meet you there. I'll be living in Europe for six months so-" He regretted saying it when she heaved a sigh upon hearing his thought.
