Izuku's POV

I waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. But he never came.

"Where's Todo? School started ten minutes ago..."

I take out my phone and text him, asking him where he is.

He replies quickly saying that he really sorry, and that him and Shin aren't going to school today... so I ask why.

He says of stress.

Well I can't just stay home! Mom let me stay here just because I said Todo was running late. Crap.

I'm about to respond, but he beats me to it.

My heart goes wild reading it. What does he mean?

'Can I actually come to Your's???????? I need to talk to you about something'

My heart beats erratically. Why does he want to talk? What does he want to talk about. He's never said something like this before. He just comes over and says what he needs to. He doesn't prepare me. He doesn't tell me he needs to talk. He just does. Crap. Crap. Crap. Crap. Crap. Crap.

I of course stay nonchalant about it all, so I just say that he can.

I give a deep, wavering sigh, then go up to my room to change into something different.

Mom's going to kill me when she finds out I skipped.

I change and plop on my bed. Todo should be here soon.

I look to the side and see my notebook, so I sit up and grab it, opening it to what I wrote last night.

I trace over the words with my finger, thinking about who I wrote it about.

Maybe that's why Todo's coming over. To break up with me.

He's probably seen the way I've been acting around Kacchan and is sick of it.

He wouldn't want to be with someone who likes someone else.

He'll think I'm weird. Disgusting. A disappointment. A freak.

What if it's about something else?

It might be about the whole parent situation. He won't talk about it, but I don't think it's the reason he says.

Maybe he doesn't trust us. Maybe he doesn't trust me.

Why is he-

I jump out of my thought (and literally) when I hear my phone beep from a notification.

My vision clears, and I'm still looking down at my song, hand still tracing over the letters.

I look at my phone and realize it's Todo texting that he's here.

I quickly shut my book and put it on my bedside table, then go downstairs to let him in.

My footsteps feel heavy as I walk down to let him in. Just a dull thump thump thump as I walk. My hearing goes in and out as I stare at the floor as I go to the door.
