It was 5 years ago. 5 years ago since we met. Well at least since I saw you. We were in the same class since high school, you may not have noticed but today is exactly 5 years since I first saw you.
The classroom was filled with loud chatters, laughter, friendship. I was seated at the back next to a girl just about shorter than me. It's not like we didn't know each other, but we also didn't talk much. We had been in the same class for a couple of years now, but never grew close. The only reason we sat together was because we didn't know anyone else. Being the only ones from the same middle school sucked. All my friends left to go study in other cities so I was left alone and probably had no chance of making new friends.
That was until you walked in. The whole world stopped. At that moment, if someone was to tell me that an angel had just walked in, I would have believed them 100%.
Everything about you was perfect. Your dark eyes, your beautiful pink lips, your tall and perfect figure. Your cheeks were flushed a faint pink colour, probably from running. Your soft light brown hair, had been ruffled from the wind outside, but I still couldn't help myself from admiring it.
You sat down in an empty seat located at the front of the class. My world was still frozen. Everything blurred, allowing me to only focus on you. The way your lips moved when you spoke, your slight movements every now and then. The way you brushed your hand through your hair, out from your eyes. I couldn't help but notice all the little things about you.
It wasn't long until I learnt that you had a girlfriend.
"You know he has a girlfriend right?"
"Huh.."
The girl next to me spoke. She was also looking into your direction, though I knew she wasn't feeling the same way as me.
"The guy you were staring at. He has a girlfriend."
"Oh."
I wasn't sure how she knew who I was looking at, but I wasn't complaining. If any other girl was in my place they would have also noticed him.
She turned to face me and looked me into the eyes. Small nose, small lips, bangs brushed to the side. She was certainly prettier than me. She always was. If someone was to pick between me and her they would probably pick her.
Her name was Yeji. Park Yeji.
I wasn't really surprised that she knew about you. She always had connections outside of school. It could have been the fact that she had a large family, as I soon learnt that you were dating her cousin.
"She's a year younger than us though." She said as she rested her head in her hand, facing the window and staring out at the light drizzle of rain. It had been raining non stop for what felt like a week. But my life wasn't as gloomy when I saw you. It seemed to light up.
I guess me and Yeji became friends. Not really sure how it happened, but we became really close.
Well, I suppose it was the fact that I constantly asked her questions about you. If 5 years ago you were to tell me I was obsessed, I wouldn't believe you. I would have probably said something like,
"No I just really like you."
Or
"I want to get to know you better."
Looking back, I always wondered if you noticed me. If you knew about the girl that constantly spoke about you. Looked at you during class. Couldn't concentrate, and almost fainted whenever you walked past her.If you knew about me.
